In 1798, James Lovell opened a store called "Lovell's Gun-Store" which became one of the most populargun stores in Hazleton because it had a wide variety of firearms available for purchase and sale. Lovell also stored his weapons at his home which is still standing today (it has been turned into an office). In 1815, Captain John Armstrong set up shop on Market Street and began selling guns direct to consumers without going through any dealers or middlemen - this was an innovative move at the time! He also began storing his guns at what is now known as Armstrong's House which remain so today! AfterCaptainJohnArmstrong died in 1825, his son-in-law Nicholas Biddle took over running the business until he passed away in 1830. From 1830 till 1840, Mr.(unknown) ran the business until he also passed away; during this time period there were only two other businesses open within 1/4 mile of where Armstrong's Guns were located: Beattie & Sons Store and Barron’s Mutt Shop!. On February 6th, 1840 Mrs.(unknown) opened her own shop called “The Arsenal” next door to “The Arsenal” belonging to Mrs.(unknown). This new business continued operating until about 1865 when it closed due to financial difficulties caused by World War I(). After World War I(), Mr.(unknown) reopened “The Arsenal” with help from friends who provided him with money from their businesses that had gone out of Business during prohibition era (). It remained open until around 1970 when it too closed due to economic difficulties caused by changes within local society (). Finally, after much research and some failed attempts at revival over many years(!), The Armory finally reopened on July 10th 2014 under new ownership as Guns 'N' Ammo!

Hazleton is a town in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,492 at the 2010 census. It is the namesake of Hazleton Heights, which overlooks the town and its surrounding countryside. The landing place for English colonists in 1681 was on the east side of Hazleton Creek. After years of settlement by Germans and other Europeans, Hazleton became an American community in 1814. The first store built in Hazleton was a log cabin owned by John Hargrave. Other early businesses included a sawmill and grist mill operated by Nicholas Herrick and David Brownell respectively; all were destroyed by fire in 1821. A post office was established in 1824, and continued operation until 1840. In 1792, Isaac Neeley purchased 640 acres (2 km²) of land to the northwest of Hazleton Creek from George Washington Cranch for £5 per acre (1/8th pound). Neeley renamed his land "Hazleton" after his birthplace, Scotland. He founded a farmstead on this tract which he called "Neeley's Hill". He also constructed a small cabin near what is now the parish churchyard. Some later residents claimed that they had first seen an Indian wigwam north of present-day Hazleton when driving out to their plows one winter morning around 1830; however no evidence supports this claim and it has been discounted as folklore since then! In 1800–1801 James Denton surveyed part of what is now Lackawanna County for Pittsburgh & Associates under contract with William Augustus Wilson Jr.. On July 1st 1802 "… Thomas Goodacre Surveyor having finished his survey took possession thereof." In addition to surveys Goodacre conducted building work on behalf of Pittsburgh & Associates including erection of two stores and numerous other structures including: a jail or gaol – new at that time – schoolhouse – courthouse – Masonic Lodge - court house - five miles long main street extending from market square across creek to where it meets canal - ten feet wide frontage along both sides… more than two hundred buildings were erected during [Goodacre's] occupancy alone! A post office named "Hazletown" was established at this location on October 15th 1824 but due to lack of business it ceased operations three days later. In 1840 Henry Clay replaced Clay as Postmaster General and set up his own office within Independence Hall which continues today as PA State Office Building No 2 located between Third Street East & Pennsylvania Avenue NW in downtown Washington D.C., close to historical sites such as Independence Hall etcetera
Hazleton was founded in 1795 by James Hazleton. The town became a manufacturing center after the opening of the Erie Canal and saw growth in brickmaking, agriculture, and other industries. In 1887, Hazleton was renamed Steel City after steel production exploded in the area. Steel production declined during World War II but has since recovered with new factories built in Hazleton.
