In 1873, American George Armstrong Custer and his Seventh Cavalry used a target holder to shoot at a Sioux camp in South Dakota. This event is generally considered the first time Americans were ever allowed to use firearms on Native American reservations. The practice of targets shooting continued throughout the 1800s and early 1900s, but it was not until after World War I that rifle shooting became an official part of many American school programs. NRA instructor Theodore Roosevelt began teaching rifle shooting at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893. Rifle shooting quickly gained popularity as a means of competitively defeating other students, coaches, and spectators. In 1916, the US Olympic Shooting Team took home the gold medal for rifle competition at the Athens Olympics thanks in part to their victory in the rifle stage of the team event. During World War II, Target Holder Shooters Association (TOSH) was created to promote firearm safety training for target holders across America. Theodore Roosevelt's grandson Franklin D Roosevelt also became involved with NRA during this time as its president from 1941-1945. After World War II ended, Target Holder Shooters Association disbanded due to lack of interest from members following what they saw as increased gun violence across America following The Great Depression and Second World War respectively

Greensburg, PA was founded in 1795 by James Green and Daniel Green. The first gun shop in Greensburg opened in 1825. In 1865, the city of Greensburg became a state capital and the gun shops closed. However, there still remained a large population of farmers who needed to shoot targets for their own safety. In 1889, the first target shooting club was formed in Greensburg. The club continued to meet until 1945 when it merged with another target shooting club in Greensburg to form the present-day National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

Greensburg is located in the state of Pennsylvania, and it is part of the Greensburg-Allegany County[1] metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 69,827. The city was founded in 1796 by settlers from Virginia. It became a municipality in 1855 and a city in 1907. In 2003, it merged with nearby Altoona to form the Altoona-Greensburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The economy of Greensburg is based on manufacturing and services. The city has two important universities: Allegany County Community College and Westmoreland Community & Technical Institute. A number of large companies are headquartered here including Allegheny Technologies, MeadWestvaco, J&J Tobacco Company, Wegmans Food Markets,[2] and PNC Financial Services Group.[3][4]

There is no one definitive answer to this question, as the history of target holders has variably changed over time. However, some key aspects of target holder history include: (1) their use in gunfirefights during the American Revolution; (2) their design and construction details that have influenced many modern firearms accessories; and (3) how they've been used by shooters throughout the years. In 1775, a British soldier named Benjamin Banneker designed and built the first practical target holder. Banneker's device consisted of two round logs that were attached to a post. When someone hit one of these logs with a stick or ball, the other log would jump up and knock away any targets that were shot at it. This early target holder was eventually replaced by an improved version known as the "Banner" type holder which featured four interconnected posts instead of just two. During America's Revolutionary War, various groups engaged in gunfirefights all around Boston. One such group was The Continental Army's 95th Regiment of Foot who used platform-mounted Targets to hit enemy troops with artillery fire while lying down on either side of their encampment perimeter fence. Because these targets could be easily knocked over by rounds from opposing cannons, it was essential forThe Continental Army to have reliable means for hitting its troops stationed within range without them being injured or killed. One early example of a firearm accessory that incorporatedTarget Holder technology was the "Shoot 'n' Hurl" grenade launcher invented by United States Marine Major General John Burgoyne in 1776. burgoyne's invention allowed Marines to launch grenades from saddles on their horses while attacking enemy positions from a distance using what became known as "fire laager" tactics - positions held along an open ground where infantrymen could hurl grenades down onto enemies below using long poles positioned above them for cover purposes (see also pic). Target holders continued to be developed throughout America's Revolution and into following decades, most notably during World War II when military snipers began using Target Holders as well as other sniper gear in order to increase accuracy and reduce exposure when shooting at targets located far away from friendly soldiers positions. These devices also proved useful for providing cover for friendly troops when engaging opposition forces near battlefield trenches or fortified lines (See photo). Throughout World War II, various different types of Target Holders were developed specifically for sniper use including bipod-mounted models as well as shoulder-fired launchers which provided ballistic coverage over large areas while remaining stationary - this tactic became known as "target hold off". Some common attachments utilized by snipers during World War II include: telescopic sights, night vision goggles/glasses, body armor/ammo carriers etc... Additionally, Target Holders continued to play an important role in firearm accessory development through the late 20th century onwards with new designs becoming available regularlyorporating features such as silent firing capabilities or temperature control mechanisms ensuring ease of use even under challenging conditions..

Greensburg, Pennsylvania is a town in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 9,835 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Monroe County. As of the 2010 census, Greensburg had a population of 10,912. The first European settlers in Greensburg were Nicholas Penn and his family from England who arrived in 1772. They built a log cabin on the present day site of Greensburg on March 14th and named it "Penn's Cabin". The first store opened in 1813 and was called "Penn's Store". In 1824 James Wofford added to the store stock with importer goods brought over by Adam Jones from Liverpool and named it "Wofford & Son". In 1830 John A. Krieger Jr., made an addition to the business which became known as "Krieger Bros." In 1867 William Proctor bought Krieger Bros., adding grocery stores to their business list as well as a hotel and other commercial buildings around today's downtown area (now known as GreenSBurg). By 1900 there were 11 businesses in downtown Greensburg with an estimated payroll of $25,000 per year. During this time growth for Greensburg was steady with youngsters coming into town to work in these businesses while parents looked out for their children back home. On July 1st 1908 Drury Gorman located land north of downtown on what is now state Route 309 which he donated to Commonwealth College for educational purposes (the college would become Brown University). On October 2nd 1909 Gorman donated another piece of land - this time 3 acres - east of where US-11 currently meets PA Route 309 for a new campus that would house both Commonwealth College students and local farmers/ ranchers who had also donated land nearby including two brothers who founded Bethlehem Steel Company: George Washington Bridge Company #1(GWBC)and George Washington Bridge Company #2 (GWRB). This initial campus housed classrooms, laboratories, dining halls and social rooms before construction started on what would become GreenSBurg High School which began classes September 15th 1910 under Revd Alfred Hesseltineeteria (later Provincial Governor David Mifflin). At its inception GreenSBurg had 7 graduates from Commonwealth College who later served in various positions within the community such as school superintendent; Borough Treasurer; Chairman Of The Board Of Education; Mayor Of Brownsville Borough And finally since becoming part of Monroeville Township on November 2nd 1913 when township officials merged with Greene Township they have continue serve through all three levels making them one official government entity here today! With increasing traffic fatalities rates throughout Monroeville Township due to Interstate 80 being built right through town suddenly more people were needed within our small community so we hired our very own Jay Pyle...Jay Pyle represented us proudly during those early days until alcoholism took holdbit him after only 8 short years! Although Jay passed away many years ago we still miss him dearly!

Greensburg was founded in 1785 by George Washington and is one of the oldest towns in Pennsylvania. In 1820, it became the capital of the United States. The town was destroyed by a fire in 1886, but it was rebuilt and renamed Greensburg after its original founder. Today, Greensburg is a small city with a population of around 60,000 people.
