In 1914, Riflemen's Home Guard Armory #3 opened on main Street in Greensburg which became home to thefirst gun range in the area. On October 15th 1915, the town of Greensburg voted to incorporation as a borough with a pistol range becoming an official part of municipal life on November 1st 1915 In 1917, Majors Haskell and Steele decided that they no longer needed their own ranges so they merged their former rifle range into Rifleman's Home Guard Armory #3 - this left Gunnery Sgt Harry Weingarten as sole proprietor of Gunnery Sergeant Weingarten's Gunnery School where he ran instruction for both military and civilian shooters until his death in 1969 Gunnery Sergeant Harry Weingarten had started teaching target shooting at Gunnery Sergeant Weingarten's Gunnery School when it was formed in 1917
Greensburg is a small town in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The first European settlers in Greensburg were Dutch and Swedes who started a trading post in what is now downtown on the banks of the Allegheny River in 1753. By 1800, there were over 100 people living in Greensburg. In 1803, when Pennsylvania became a state, Greensburg was incorporated as a borough. On December 12, 1868, it became an independent city under the name of Greenburg. In 1910, president Grover Cleveland moved his presidential library from New York City to Greensburg after its lease expired; he donated land for the library and $100,000 to support it. From then until 1978 it was located on Second Street between Elm and Perry Streets near the riverfront park that still bears his name today. In 1916-17 due to World War I shortages of munitions and other goods being brought into America by ship via Port Royal Roads (later known as I-ry), Greensburg began importing ammo directly from Europe through their own port yards on Market Street which remain active to this day as "Greensburg Arsenal". The local paper "The Patriot" reported that during this time: "No one knows how much ammunition has been imported into Eagle Point since 1916." It should be noted that at this time most American munitions production took place east of Pittsburgh along Route 916 out of Erie County while most European production took place west of Route 916 out of Clearfield County - making Greenburgh one stoplight amidst many during those times for both types of production! On October 20th 1938 Anne Frank's family was arrested by German secret police agents while they were hiding inside Amsterdam's Vondelhof Synagogue with six other people including her mother Miep Gieseking and two younger siblings—Jozef and Pinke—and found guilty by trial only because all five adults could not speak German fluently! Anne Frank would later say she felt like she had been “punished” for speaking out about Nazi Germany even though she knew nothing about any incriminating evidence hidden inside! This event would serve as inspiration for her writing book 'Towards Freedom' which tells the story from her perspective throughout her incarceration (of 15 months) within Nazi concentration camps before being liberated by Allied forces at Bergen Belsen Concentration Camp Easter weekend 1945! A plaque dedicated to Anne Frank can now be found outside Ofelia Elementary School where she was born on April 15th 1942

Greensburg is a small town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,972 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The Town of Greensburg was founded in 1795 by surveyors who surveyed the land for a new county courthouse. The first settler to arrive in what is now Greensburg was George Washington Smith and his family on March 10, 1800. In 1802, James Wickersham arrived and built the first store in what would become Greensburg. He also started a school in this town which taught children from poor families how to read and write beginning in 1807. In 1814, John Cushman erected a log cabin on the present site of Greenbank Elementary School which served as both home and school until 1827 when it burned down. In that year, Reverend John Blythe purchased the building from Cushman and used it as his church until 1840 when he sold it to Samuel Ritchie who additions were made to it including an addition for home economics classes which served as Ritchie Hall until 1906 when it burned down again. In 1907-1908, Mrs Winifred Schieffer opened her own grocery store at 190 West Market Street which became known as "The Shop". She remained proprietor until her death in 1958; after she left ownership of the store passed through several hands before being bought by Jerald Hargrave who operated it from 1978-1979 before selling it to Glenn Kittleman who operated it from 1980-1985 before moving operations outside of Greensburg into an old tire shop on Elmwood Drive (now Donnybrook Drive) where he continued operation until his death in 1995.. From 1985-1988 former owner Glenn Kittleman donated equipment used during renovations onto adjacent lot for use by current owners Jefferey & Lisa Hendrickson who continue operation since 2002.. In 2006 local historian Rick Weiland curated an exhibit called "A People's History Of Greensburg" at Greene County Historical Society featuring photos, artifacts and stories about early Greensburg residents
