In 2003 John F Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum relocated from JFK Presidential Library Park in Westchester County to downtown Erie following bankruptcy proceedings that threatened its closure; however library operations continued uninterrupted until 2006 when new leadership eliminated some programs while saving others for eventual relocation within larger New York City venues..
