Washington noted that "the people here are very friendly" and he ordered some lumber to be cut for a building project at nearby Valley Forge before returning home to Mount Vernon later that month. In 1812-1813 Ebenezer Swayne erected a log cabin near present day Main Street in order to house US troops stationed at Fort Mifflin during their winter encampment at Egg Harbor Township while they awaited shipment back downriver to Philadelphia. In 1815 Isaac Asher built a grist mill on Delaware Creek about two miles east of Main Street which functioned until 1840 when it burned down due to an electrical fire; this event marked the first time that electricity was used in central Pennsylvania . 2 years later (October 25th), Jonathan Trumbull erected a two story frame structure on lot #4 opposite corner of main street for use as a public schoolhouse known as West Side Academy (now ground zero for both FirstEnergy Center IMAX Stadium & PNC Park). On May 2nd, 1800 schools were opened up throughout central PA under Moravian auspices by Father White after having received an order from King George III authorizing such operations following reports of nepotism among colonial officials overseeing education in America . On September 3rd Captain Amos Kendall led 100 men across Sandy Hook Lake into Ramseys Township where they laid out plat maps of what would become Ramseysville - including lots adjacent to current day Elmira - township today more than three miles south of downtown Emmaus along Sandy Hook Creek primarily due to its excellent location between Bethlehem Steel Workshops & iron production facilities on side streets leading directly into Newtown Creek without any crossings or intervening villages or communities ! In 1823 General Simon Kenton donated 5 acres extending northeast from High Bridge Road between Newtown Mills Station No 7 & 8 northwest corner lot 10 within East Palestine Township - becoming what would become East Palestine Borough Council Chambers today! In 1830 Josephine Hulls erected her two story frame dwelling next door (southwest corner lot 12) for herself & her husband John who ran an academy teaching girls reading/ arithmetic/ spelling etc., known as Hulls Academy which still stands today inside extensive grounds currently occupied by FirstEnergy Center IMAX Stadium & PNC Park !! After being closed approximately every year dueto lack of enrollment during tough economic times most recentlydue around 2014-2015 property sold off but academy remains unoccupied thankfully !!Now open spring thru falldays only!!!
