The history of gun slings in Easton, Pennsylvania dates back to the early 1800s. At that time, the area was inhabited by Native American tribes and firearms were not common among them. So, when white settlers arrived in the area, they brought their own guns with them. One of the first people to settle in Easton was John Fitzpatrick, who built a ranch on what is now called Fitzpatrick Street. Fitzpatrick had several shotguns and he started using them to hunt deer and other game. In 1812, Fitzpatrick's son-in-law Moses Harris purchased his father-in-law's farm on present day Elm Street. The Harrises began shooting small game with their rifles from their home next door. Soon enough, other settlers began to arrive in town and started stocking up on firearms too. As gun ownership increased among these early residents, so did violence and crime in Easton. In 1828, an incident occurred that led to increased tension between white settlers and Native Americans living in the area. A group of men known as the "Cousins" came into town with intent of kidnapping a young woman named Judith Campbell from her family's home near Second Avenue and Main Street. The men succeeded in abduction but Failed to capture Judith alive which sparked a battle between the two groups that ensued. In this fight, many innocent people were killed or wounded including Campbell’s parents and brothers who tried to save her life. This event became known as the Second Battle ofEaston which ended with no victor for either side

Easton is a town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 9,609 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Beaver Creek Watershed and is part of the Pittsburgh–Philadelphia metropolitan area. The name "Easton" was given to the community by General George Washington in 1795 while he was visiting Butler County. Easton is one of two towns in Butler County that are still named after Revolutionary War generals--the other being Greencastle. The first European settlers arrived in what is now Easton Township on May 14, 1797 when Swedish immigrants James Olsson and his family set out from their farmstead on what is now Penn's Landing Road. They were accompanied by Isaac Watts and three others who founded a tiny Presbyterian settlement near present-day Monroeville Township. In 1802, Ulysses S. Grant made an application for land grants at what would become known as Grants Run Fork Delaware River Settlement which included parts of present-day Butler and Armstrong counties. After hearing about Grant's application, John Forbes decided to move to what would be called Grants Run Township where he platted a small farmstead with twenty acres (8 ha) of ground that today houses the eastern boundary of Easton village limits. When Huntingdon County was created on March 12, 1827 it included all of modern Butler and Armstrong counties as well as most of Delaware River township including east of present-day Easton Village Limits. On November 6, 1828 Huntingdon county commissioners voted to add eastward lying portions of Mercer and Allegheny counties including all or nearly all of what is now Easton Township to Huntingdon county effective December 1st without any public hearings or debate! The cherry on top for this new addition were reports that “in consequence [of] these additions…the inhabitants have generally become more industrious than before” due to increased access to resources located within newly granted boundaries! Eaton Tavern/The Olde House stands today as one cornerstones in the growth and development around this early settler center which saw its heyday from the late 1800s until World War I when many local businesses like Macy's department store vacated their locations for relocation outside the then Steel city limits due various industrial concerns impacting Pittsburgh especially during those times!
