It features a large belfry with cupola and four Ionic order columns supporting a entablature above the doorway landing stage. The facade has been altered only once since its construction: A three-story addition was made to the east side (1906). In 1907–08, EasternPennsylvania Power Company constructed an electric power plant on land adjacent to what is now Market Street near where present day Interstate 80 intersects PA Route 881

During the late 19th century and into the early 20th century, there were several instances where residents of Easton left their homes for various reasons including crop failures or war-time shortages of goods necessary for life within their townsite. In 1922, however, Easton again grew rapidly as it joined the new borough of Allentown in what would become known as "theAllentown Experiment". This expansion saw increased development within the town due to its proximity to major municipalities and commerce that could be accessed through transportation improvements made during this time period such as Route 22 which now runs through both communities. As a result of this growth, employment opportunities within Easton increased as well which led to an increase in civic involvement within the community throughout these years including lobbying efforts for government funding programs that may have been beneficial for its citizens. Today, while still having a limited populace (at around one thousand Residents), Easton enjoys widespread support from its municipal government due to its vibrant economic climate and expanding cultural amenities that make it another popular destination among visitors in Greater Allentown region
