Dunmore is a small town in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 715 at the 2010 census. Dunmore is located in Snyder County. The first settler in what is now Dunmore was John Dunmore, who arrived in 1724 and founded what would become the town of Dunmore. The name comes from a stream called "Dunmorne" which he named after his friend, Sir Robert Dunlop (1681-1747), 1st Baronet of Sleeper's Heath. The first mill in town built by John Dunmore was destroyed by fire in 1812, but was rebuilt and used until it burned down again in 1827. In 1807, the United States Congress passed an act authorizing the erection of a military post on Delaware River between Lancaster and Philadelphia counties for the protection of American citizens living on that side of the river. This post became known as Fort Necessity; it was closed down by order of President James Kenedy in 1828 because of its low ebb tide levels and high water requirements. However, Fort Necessity still stands today as a memorial to this event. In 1860, when Pennsylvania became a state, DunMORE had a population of 553 residents; however, due to growth within Snyder County only 498 residents lived there at Census Day 1960 (the last census taken before statehood). Dunmore is a small town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,452 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Dunmore were French colonists who came in 1683. A post office was established here in 1795, and by 1825 it had become a small village with a store and one schoolhouse. In 1829, Dunmore became a borough within Butler County; its residents voted to secede from Butler in 1840. A cotton gin was built hereabouts in 1847 and continued production until 1865. In 1870, Dunmore became an incorporated town; its citizens adopted the name of "DunMORE" on July 4th of that year. In 1876, local farmers formed the first grain elevator in Pennsylvania when they imported 10 tons of wheat from Illinois for $1 per tonne (the price at which wheat could be exported then). By 1907 there were several elevators operating throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware as well as inside Maryland and Virginia due to prohibition against importing foreign grains into America during that period. The last major flour millenium began with the construction of this mill by J W Phelps & Co starting up operations on October 3rd 1924; it continued until 1971 when it closed because of competition from other mills across America The only thing remaining from those days are some old buildings that have been converted into apartments or condos nowserving as examples of what once happened hereabouts back then Although today's residents may not remember all that occurred back then- many aspects still remain relatively unchanged such as the friendly people who made their living through agriculture or service industry- many things did change over time including how much farm land was developed while also how much housing has been built since then especially considering that most people located hereabouts grew up outside of town limits .

Dunmore was founded in 1710 by John Dunmore. It is the oldest community in the United States and is located in southeastern Pennsylvania. The town was named after John Dunmore, the first European to settle in the area. At its peak, Dunmore had a population of about 1,500 people.
