After years of hard work, this company finally achieved its goal - making handguns available to all Pennsylvanians! In 1865, Fourth Regiment Armory Company merged into Third Regiment Armory Company! As part of this merger, both companies decided to change their name from “Third Regiment Armory Company” to “Dunmore Arsenal Commissioned Cavalry Association No 2 (DAC2)”! Ducie & Waddell Firearms Manufacturing became responsible for producing handguns at DAC2 until 1933 when it merged with H&R Arms Corporation effective March 1st 1934). At DAC2, firearms production resumed under new management with responsibilities including engineering development and marketing research; sales promotion; purchasing; storage/distribution; field service support; assembly/disassembly; repair/maintenance…until 1984 when it reverted back to Ducie & Waddell Firearms Manufacturing Incorporated effective March 1st 1984). rifles continued being produced alongside pistols at DAC2 until April 15th 1992 when they ceased operations due to economic reasons (#10)

Dunmore is a small town in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,813 at the 2010 census. Dunmore is known for its cheese and whiskey production. The community was founded in 1798 by General James Dunmore as part of the Wyoming Valley Colony. It is named after John Dunmore, an English general who fought in the American Revolutionary War and later became America's first secretary of war. In 1814, Dunmore purchased from Andrew Jackson a tract of land that included what is now Dunmore village and much of what is now Huntingdon County. He built a gristmill on the stream near his home to grind corn for his family and to produce flour for baking bread and other goods. By 1830, he had erected a sawmill, which continued operation until 1884; also in 1830, he erected a grist-house with five ovens for grinding meal into flour for baking purposes; these buildings still stand today. In 1821–22, General James DunMORE founded the township of Huntingdon on this site (named after him). As early as 1798 there were two stores in Huntingdon: one by Captain Thomas HARRISON located on Main Street between High Street and Court House Square (later renamed State Road), and another by Ebenezer SANDERSON on High Street between Court House Square and First Church Square (later renamed State Road). A post office was established at Huntinton in 1800 but it closed within three years because no letters could be sent to subscribers because of high postage rates charged by Pennsylvanian mail carriers! The first permanent settler arrived in 1798 when General James Duncan MORE moved his family from Wyoming Valley Colony to this area following an unsuccessful attempt to settle at Upper Burrell Township east of Philadelphia. A group including Major John Armstrong coming downriver from Cumberland County arrived at Acton Landing about November 20th & 21st/7 Miles distant from where we are now situated under protestated ground lay their foundation stone October 12th 1800 & having accomplished their purpose they called themselves . . . “The Settlers’ Company” under Major Armstrong who took care of all things falling out thereof till such time as some better settlement might be made etcetera etcetera soon followed them en route back up river where they landed before finding suitable accommodationsamongst us we enjoyed good reputation with our fellow men however upon reaching this place our difficulties began we found few friends amongthe people hereabouts so after four days journey through deep snowdrifts Great Meadows were reached January 9th 1802 following which day they smelt oil while traveling thro' rough country met with several Indian Chiefs whose villages lay contiguous thereto without any difficulty destroyed all their lodges during our stay here building only two poles & eighty gun shotts or twenty foote Houses without fire places tho’ pitched almost exactly like those lately erected at Alexandria Delaware By 1800 there were seven stores established along main roads leading into town: courthouse square (now state road), high street between court house square and First Church Square (later renamed state road), aptitude square (now Prospect Avenue), second church square (now Dunkirk Avenue), third church square (now Antrim Avenue), fourth church square (now Liberty Avenue) - each open Monday thru Saturday 10am - 4pm; weekdays except Holy Day holidays Closed Sundays noon - 8pm; Also present were three blacksmith shops which operated six days per week during winter months only; animal husbandry was also practiced extensively with sheep being raised wild alongwith pigs hogs rooting up trees For fuel wood These establishments formed the nucleus around which social life developed over time.................................
