It was located on the corner of High Street and Market Square. The Farmers Armory became one of the most influential gun dealers in America. The Merchants Armory also played an important role in the development of American handgun culture. In 1892, Merchants Armory founder Samuel Colt donated two handguns to President Grover Cleveland for his inauguration celebrations. These pistols were among the first handguns ever made in America. In 1907, Merchants Armory merged with George Wickersham & Company to become George Wickersham & Company Firearms Corporation. This company became one of the largest firearms dealers in America. In 1915, Guns and Ammo magazine featured an article about guns stored at Merchant Armories across America during World War I. This article helped popularize firearms ownership among American civilians. MerchantsArmory also played a significant role in gun control during the 20th century. During World War II, MerchantsArmory donated rifles and shotguns to various organizations such asthe National Rifle Association (NRA). This donation helped contribute to gun regulation within America during this time period

In Dunmore, Pennsylvania, firearms have been a part of the community for centuries. In 1795, George Washington and his men took up arms against the British in what is known as the Whiskey Rebellion. The rifle that Washington used to fight this battle was made by Nicholas-Jacques Conte, a French immigrant who set up shop in Dunmore. Conte's rifle became known as the "Draco" because it could shoot balls with great accuracy out to distances of 25 yards. The first gun store in Dunmore was established in 1802 by John Brownell and Samuel Morse. This store was called the "Brownells." In 1827, George Armstrong Custer died during an attack on Fort Dearborn. As a result of this event, Congress passed the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution which states: "A well regulated Militia being necessary to secure these Blessings,the Right of Citizens to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." In 1861, when America fought Confederate forces at Bull Run Bridge over the Potomac River, Union soldiers fired into a crowd of Confederates who had gathered there to watch. This event is known as The Battle of Bull Run and resulted in more than 100 deaths on both sides. As a result of this battle, Congress passed legislation giving citizens right to bear arms.

Dunmore is a town in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 6,752 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The first settler in Dunmore was John Dunmore, who arrived in 1736. In 1747, George Washington and his forces explored the area and named it Dunmore after General Sir Edmund Dunmore of Ireland who had helped with their victory over the French in Quebec City two years earlier. The first tavern in DunMORE opened on Main Street in 1812 by James Caldwell. In 1824, John Logsdon opened a dry goods store on First Avenue which became known as "theLogsdon Store". In 1851, Jno. Walford combined three small villages into one community under the name of "DunMORE". At that time there were ten families living here and sixty-eight businesses operated within its limits; but by 1870 only six families remained and seventy-four businesses still stood. By 1900 there were only four families living here and ninety-six businesses still operated within its limits; but this decline did not stop until 1940 when all but one business closed down due to World War II restrictions on trade during the war years). In 1945, Dick Cheney was born here and he attended local high school from 1965 through 1969 before going to Yale University where he earned a Bachelors degree in international relations! He then worked for 4 years as an assistant policy advisor for Vice President Dick Cheney's home state of Wyoming! Cheney later served as Governor of Wyoming from 2003 to 2007! Cheney also has 2 daughters with wife Liz Cheney: Karen (born 1988)and Jenna (born 1990). In 1984 Dr. Mehmet Oz set up his show "The Doctors" here in DunMORE while he resided for many years at Scripps Research Institute located adjacent to our high school! He left shortly afterwards however because of anti-Semitism which ran rampant throughout much of Europe during that era! Many people have accused him of being sponsored by Jewish groups although this could not be confirmed or disproven definitively!

Today, DunMORE is known for its402-acre (156-hectare) nature preserve which includes over 20 miles (32 km) of forested shoreline as well as ponds, streams and beaches accessible through interpretive trails and open-air exhibits about local fishing techniques and life in early 21st century America near Pittsburgh's industrial waterfront
