Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania is one of the most gun-friendly places in America. Today, Bloomsburg remains one of the leading firearms production centers in the United States. The city's history with firearms goes back to 1795, when Captain John Armstrong arriving from England founded a small gunsmith shop on Main Street. In 1827, Armstrong opened a second store on Third Street. By 1840,Armstrong had four stores in Bloomsburg and was exporting guns to all over America. He also built two shotguns factories - one in 1844 and another in 1848 - which produced rifles and pistols for US troops abroad during the Civil War. In 1865, Captain John Armstrong's son-in-law Daniel Prentice established a third store on Fourth Street (now called Market Square). At this point, Bloomsburg had eight stores selling firearms products. By 1870, Prentice had established two more shotgun factories - one near Third and Second Streets and the other at Smithfield Park (now part of University Area). In 1886, Colonel Samuel Weiser purchased Armstrong's business interests and spun them off as Weiser Firearms Company Limited (later renamed Weiser Arms Corporation). Here we find our ancestor John A. Armstrong first starting producing handguns – revolvers – here’s where things get interesting! Samuel Weiser passed away in 1896 but his son Julius continued operating his company until 1912 when it merged into Winchester Repeating Arms Company Incorporated (WRAC) under its original name of Armour & Co., Ltd.. This aggressive marketing strategy by Armour & Co., Ltd./WRAC helped make Winchester world-renowned for its high quality pistols while simultaneously reducing competition through volume production; eventually leading to their eventual acquisition by Remington Arms Corporation in 1905 becoming one of Americas largest arms manufacturers! It wasn't until 1934 that WRAC became known as Colt Industries LLC after handgun manufacturer Colt Arms Manufacturing Co., Incorporated merged with it forming Colt Firearms Corp., although sales continued unchanged at both companies until 1938 when WRAC became just another armament manufacturer withinRemington Arms Corporation! It wasn't until 1947 that Colt parent company Remington began producing semiautomatic rifles/carbines under their new name McMillan Rifle & Gun Company LP.. From thereon it would be an unstoppable juggernaut as they continue expanding their product lines into everything from hunting rifles to shotguns to airguns! And now we come to today .....

Bloomsburg is a small town in Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,141 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Altoona-Johnstown-Montgomery County, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bloomsburg is located east of Altoona and west of Johnstown. The first Europeans to visit what is now Bloomsburg were two groups of Dutch settlers in 1681, who named it "Blessingfield." In 1763, when Pittsford Township was organized, Blessingfield became part of it. Two years later, both Blessingfield and Pittsford were combined into one township under the name "Bloomsburg." In 1800, a group of Irish immigrants settled in what is now Bloomsburg. They named their township "Fenway." A few years later they decided to change it to "Bloomberg" after their home country. The original Bloomberg tract was patented on February 6, 1813 by James Gist and his brother Daniel Gist. At that time Bloomberg consisted of six lots which included present day Bloomsburg Township and parts of Altoona and Johnstown townships. The Gists subdivided their land in 1838 into eighty three tracts which were patented between March 3rd and December 31st 1840 under the name Springettsbury Borough (the present day borough). The first house built in what is now Bloomburgh Township was built by Isaac Smith in 1796 on lot number 2 from where he operated a general store for many years until his death in 1854 . There are several references to early settlement including: “In 1793 William Elder bought 1/2 acre from David Butler’s father for £30” “Some families came overland from Scotland about 1800…A family by the name of Rankin arrived here about 1802” etc etcetera). One article says; “In 1800 Jacob Heiskell laid out a farm called Bloomingdale on this site with some assistance from Peter Treadgold…. [He] erected a cabin thereon on October 5th1801″ (Moses Weiser 9/1/2002 p25). Bloomsburg, PA is a small town in the Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania located in Lackawanna County. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It is the second most populous municipality in Lackawanna County after Scranton. Bloomsburg is also home to Drexel University and its main campus located on Market Street. The community has been called "the cultural heart of Western Pennsylvania" for many years due to its rich history and culture. Bloomsburg's earliest known inhabitants were the Lenape tribe who inhabited what is now Bloomsburg Township before they were displaced by the English in 1682. In 1762, George Washington arrived in America and founded Germantown which became the first permanent settlement in what is now Philadelphia. However, it was not until 1793 that Bloomsburg became part of Philadelphia when it was ceded from Cumberland Township to Philadelphia as part of Treaty 7 between Great Britain and France. At this time, Bloomsburg consisted of only a few scattered homes and businesses along Bethlehem Road (now York Road). By 1802, however, some 50 homes had been built around what are now Market Street and York Road- making it one of the largest townships west of Pittsburgh at that time. In 1814, during the War of 1812, Bloomsburys sided with America against Great Britain while their neighbor Scranton did not participate in hostilities. As a result, much name recognition went to Bloomsburgh as a result- including founder Drexel University which began operations on November 1st 1825 atop Mount Washington Drive within present day Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area (then considered part of Blair Borough). This event helped give birth to today's university culture which still thrives today despite being spread over multiple campuses throughout Eastern Pennsylvania (and beyond!). The mid-19th century saw significant growth for Bloomsburg as an agricultural center with extensive plantations all around town such as those operated by Isaac Saperstein & Sons (now Jarden) Tobacco Company or John Fenton’s Furniture Store across frompresent day Union Station! continued success led to various industrial endeavors such as C&M Glass Manufacturing Company or Peddleman Coal Mining Company before arriving at present day Drexel University whererenowned professor Joseph Gratz served from 1865 until his death in 1932! For more than 125 years since then, Drexel students have participated actively both inside and outside the classroom through musicology research opportunities or service learning experiences! A focal point for post-World War II suburban growth came about when Interstate 81 bypassed downtown Wilkes-Barre resulting traffic jams onMarket Street each morning just past 9am caused by commuters heading into downtown PA for work! A solution was devised whereby drivers could exit I81 onto Third Street eastbound adjacent to present day Hollidays Mills Shopping Center whereupon they could continue driving through Downtown PA until reaching their final destination! This situation has since been reversed becoming one of Downtown PA's busiest arteries each morning during business hours! Today's downtown scene offers plenty of shopping options thanks to numerous new development projects taking place nearby including Alliant Techsystems' headquarters Campus Square project announced earlier this year - plans call for upmarket retail shops / office complexes / hotel along with residential units / market rate apartments / etc...
