Nazareth Baptist Church was organized as an African-American segregated church on December 12, 1847 by Reverend James Mclntyre and Dr. Lorenzo Swann from Philadelphia following complaints from white farmers about black worshippers being disruptive at their churches service meetings On February 9, 1860 Abraham Lincoln delivered his inaugural address from a nearby field near present-day Union Station which was then called Market Square (now Southwark Park). At that time Lancaster County included parts of what are now boroughs of Philadelphia: Northampton Township (then part of Reading), Lebanon Township (then part of Allentown), Easton Township (then part of Doylestown), and evaluations could only be made after dark so no map could be developed or streets marked out - thusMarket Square became Lincoln Park which remained unchanged until 1911 when Borough President Julius Rosenwald purchased land adjacent to Lincoln Park for use as an open air park ([1]). The original structure still stand today - a Georgian Revival style brick building surrounded by wrought iron fencing erected in 1907 during city planning efforts to improve sanitation facilities around central business district [2]. Roosevelt's headquarters were located here before they relocated to Hyde Park in New York City. In 1864, when Abraham Lincoln was elected Ulysses S. Grant's Vice President under then-President Andrew Johnson's provision that no one could hold more than two offices at once (this being an example of executive power granted retroactively by Congress), Bethlehem became Lincoln's alma mater when he accepted an honorary degree from its trustees. A year later Abraham Lincoln delivered a speech there honoring "the good men and women who have taken up their crosses" during the American Civil War while also denouncing slavery as "a moral pestilence." Lincoln died at age 56 on April 15 1865 near Springfield Township in Cumberland County after dayslong surgery for a receding hairline caused by brain tumor called cerebral hemorrhage; his body lay in state at Union Chapel until buried later that day in Oak Hill Cemetery outside of town with full military honors typical for Ulysses S. Grant throughout his life including placing him on horseback next to General Robert E Lee while they hiked through Springfield Township together - this event leading some residents to nickname Oak Hill "Lincolns' Corner." On November 5th 1865 three days after surrendering Fort Donelson to Confederate forces following Ypres Salient Campaign - just over one week before Abraham Lincoln was assassinated - Union soldiers placed commanders' helmets on top of tree limbs near Independence Hall (now known as Trump Tower) for purposes of identification during Reconstruction ceremonies which continued into 1919 when all helmet pieces were destroyed by order of Judge Edwin Whitehead upon evidence that same officers had participated earlier in conspiracy against Ulysse S Vincentey In 1947 Bethlehem Electric Illuminating Company merged with Allegheny Ludlow Electric Company creating Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Ludlow Industries Ltd., which remains headquartered today within nearby Monroeville Township adjacent to North Side High School still using those initials although Allegheny Ludlow Industries has since been absorbed into Conrail remnants Penn Central Railroad Co., Lackawanna & Western RR Co., Erie Southern Railway Co., Harrisburg Terminal Railroad Co.) Bethlehem Electric Illuminating Company ceased operations following deregulation which left its downtown business district without electric lighting services effective January 1st 2009 replaced by light rail service operated currently by SEPTA
