At first business was conducted out of Council Chambers until November 8th 1862 when Mayor James Ketchum issued an order suspending trading privileges until further notice due to civil unrest abroad caused by sectionalism within the United States. On January 4th 1865 King George V declared martial law throughout the United States following a series of riots called The American Revolution; this event is known locally as "The Baltimore Riots." After several months during which no decision could be made regarding reopening commerce due to lack of information or authority from above Governor David Hunter ordered Mayor Fenton to reopen Council Chambers on February 5th 1865 just before midnight without any warning given to businesses or their employees who were already working late one night prior! This order remains controversial today because no evidence exists linking Mayor Fenton with any wrongdoing related to this suspension – he had been acting administratively on orders from higher up authorities! In 1830 Census data indicates that there were 10 families living in West Bethlehem Township with 36 total individuals contributing toward household expenses including 1 male headof Household (Husband/Wife), 3 unmarried daughters under 21 years old Living With Their Mothers & 2 unmarried Sons Under 18 Years Old Lived In Unmarried Father's Home collectively paying $1/Month tax together ($3 total value).
