On December 6th 1865 (Christmas Day), Lincoln was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery with full military honors including full page adsorial headlines throughout major U.S newspapers proclaiming "Lincoln Today: A Centennial Celebration" which continued into 1986 when all but one issue had been published! His body lay there untilApril 14th 1912 when it was moved from Mount Auburn Cemetery to Goodspeed Manor National Military Park where it remains today as one of only six Presidential cemeteries remaining open nationwide!
