In 1922, Fidelity Manufacturing Company manufactured the first commercially available telescopic rifle scope from Russia that allowed users to rotate the stock for better viewing. Berwick is a small town in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,562 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Berwick was founded in 1753 by Captain George Beecham and his family. The first store in town was built on the current site of the high school in 1834. In 1849, Berwick became an unincorporated community when it merged with nearby Crawford Township to form Huntingdon Borough. The village of Berwick remained separate until its merger with neighboring Crawford Township on Feb. 20, 1907. At that time, all villages were combined into one borough under the oversight of a single board of trustees which held office for six years until 1952 when it resigned to become an independent municipality once again under its own governance. Today, much of what makes up Berwick are still visible from its early days as a center for trade and commerce within both Huntingdon Borough and Crawford Township - including many buildings still standing from those early years such as the old post office (1834), store (1834-1849), and mill (c 1830). There have been recent developments as well - most notably a new elementary school constructed in 2006 adjacent to the existing high school; and a new fitness/health club opened in 2009 adjacent to the original grocery store/ pharmacy building dating back to 1890...

Rifle manufacturers have historically used two basic types of mounts: Weaver and Picatinny. Today, many rifles are also equipped with V-notch or Mil-STD 1913 rails for attaching accessories such as sights, lasers, bipods, etc. Scope mounts can be found in both metric and imperial dimensions. Weaver mounts were designed by George Weiser in 1892 in order to replace traditional gunstocks that could not be tightened down enough when viewed from the side. Weaver guns had originally been built with stocks that were too wide relative to the barrel so they would wobble during firing which caused inaccuracy. Weiser solved this problem by designing his own saddle-based mount that was forced into a tight fit around the barrel. This design allowed him to create Threaded Muzzle Devices (TMDs) which allowed him to tighten down his stock even further without causing wobble - making Weaver one of the first firearms companies toorporate TMDs into their products! Picatinny mounts were developed by Major General John P. Fisher in response to complaints from infantrymen who complained about how difficult it was To Adjust The Elevation Of Their Guns Without A Scope! Many infantry units still use Picatinny mounting systems today because it is very easy and quick to adjust your shooting position!

The name "Berwick" comes from several place names in Scotland including Beornam and Beurkirk. The first settler in Berwick was John MacDonald who arrived in 1751. In 1824, Isaac Herndon built a gristmill on the current site of the old post office and store building. In 1829, Hugh Baird established a tannery on what is now State Street. In 1865, William Clark erected a sawmill and gristmill on Deer Park Road east of present-day Main Street. Manufacturing activities continued until the early 1990s when most manufacturing shifted to nearby Greensburg or Pittsburgh due to cost advantages over production in Pennsylvania's rural areas. The community has experienced some growth since its incorporation as a borough in 1907; however, much of that has been due to Gentile residents moving into Berwick from surrounding towns during suburbanization across Mercer County (the process began around 1960). Today there are few businesses outside of services such as grocery shopping and taxi cabs; nonetheless, many people continue to live and work within the borough limits despite this lack of significant economic development outside of it
Berwick was founded in 1795 by brothers John and Peter Berwick. The town became a borough in 1831, and the borough was annexed to the city of Philadelphia in 1911.
