The company continued to grow and sell firearms until it closed its doors in 1979. Today, there are still remnants of the original shotgun factory complex remaining on High Street which backs up against a power plant; this is where Captain Denton first began making shotguns!

In 1865, J H Beiler established a flour mill on Beaver Creek near what is now West Third Street; this mill continued operation until 1901. The first high school in Altoona was built in 1895; it became known as Central High School when it merged with nearby Dickinson High School in 1959. In 1918, an "aluminum" plant was erected northeast of town by local businessman George W Page; this plant remains active today as GWP aluminum manufacturing LLC (formerly American Aluminum). In 1921, the Mellon family bought out Page's share of GWP aluminum manufacturing LLC for $1 million dollars; this led to the development of present day Altoona's stockyards which occupy much of Center Square off Lebanon Pike between First Avenue South and State Street SE。 Today these are home to many large agricultural companies such as Monsanto Co., Bayer AG & Co., Archer Daniels Midland Co., PBF Energy Plc., PepsiCo Inc., Syngenta AG & Co.; among others . Many residents also work for government or commercial organizations located within walking distance including those working at Central High School (including several members of Congress), Hershey Chocolate Factory Headquarters (employees include chocolate makers Lindt AG & Nestle SA), Lackawanna County Courthouse (officials conducting trials at various locations) as well as other businesses located throughout downtown square including KFC Pizza Place (@KFCPizzaPlace), Starbucks Coffee (@Starbucks Coffee), First Unitarian Church (@FirstUnitarianCHurch), Hilbert’s Department Store (@Hilbert's Department Store)), Applebees @ApplebeesRestaurantAndbar)
