Woodburn, Oregon is a small town in the Yakima Valley of eastern Washington. The population was 9,715 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wenatchee-Tacoma metropolitan area. The original settler in what is now Woodburn was John Day. He and his wife, MaryAnn (née Holmes), arrived from Illinois on May 12, 1859, as part of a wagon train that also included George Stephenson and 300 other pioneers. The town was founded by pioneer Reuben Coffin on a tract of land that he had purchased at the headwaters of the Clearwater River. In 1865, when Coffin sold his share in the town to Atherton Wightman, it had a population of just 10 residents. In 1868–69, when river navigation became available through BC Ferry Landing on the lower Snake River following completion of the Columbia River Canal, Woodburn began to grow rapidly and became one of the most important towns in Yakima County. By 1870 its population had reached 508 people; by 1880 it numbered 1,023; and by 1890 it had increased to 1,521 people. During World War II woodburning stove use declined in favor of electrification but wood burning ovens continued to be used until about 1970; they are now largely replaced by gas or electric ovens for cooking purposes. As an agricultural center during much of its history Woodburn supported primarily livestock production with some grain farming conducted intermittently until around 1950 when grains were replaced by potatoes as mainstay crop rotated with other crops throughout their growing season On July 15th 1912 President William McKinley delivered his speech "Fifty years ago this week our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation—the United States." This event helped lead to increased immigration into what would become Woodburn where many families who might have immigrated elsewhere found living space hereabouts After American entry into World War I there was an increase in manufacturing because war materiel could only be produced overseas which caused unemployment among veterans returning home In 1924 baseball been organized at school with first game played August 30th against Chehalis High School which still takes place every year . Skirmishes started between Indian tribes not long after settlers arrive and led to treaty signings bringing peace for almost 100 years

Aftermarket manufacturers quickly began producing similar devices but with various design changes until 1977 when Eugene Jorgensen finally died without any new developments being made in this field[1]. This period marked a change in how firearms were used because now people could carry personal weapons at all times without worrying about mistaking them for shotguns or other handguns. Despite this improvement over previous eras, there remain several factors that continue to prohibit widespread civilian use offlashlights: their high cost and difficulty to produce; their vulnerability when used outdoors where ambient lighting is often unavailable; and their potentialliofordamagetopistolsandotherfirearms.[2]

Woodburn was founded in 1847 by Captain George C.wnburn and his wife, Anna Purdy. The town was named for General James K. Wood Burns, who fought in the Mexican-American War. The first post office was established in 1848, and the first store opened in 1850. In 1857, the town became a county seat of Benton County. By 1870, Woodburn had a population of 1,500 people and it became an important stop on the Oregon Trail. In 1875, Woodburn was destroyed by a fire that destroyed many homes and businesses. However, the community rebuilt rapidly and soon boasted a school, newspaper office, Masonic lodge (the first in Oregon), Baptist church (1887), grocery store (1889), bank (1910), and several hotels/motels. In 1916, Woodburn was renamed Salem after President George Washington's home at Mount Vernon in Virginia. The name change was due to objections from some residents who felt that Salem should remain as its original name because it depicted favorably aspects of Oregon history such as timber harvesting and agricultural endeavors. Today Salem is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Oregon with its beautiful architecture and rich cultural heritage
On November 3, 1859, the first post office was established at Woodburn. The town site was chosen because of its location on the Willamette River. In 1862, the Oregon Railroad Company built a line from Salem to Woodburn and began using the town as a terminus. The company discontinued service in 1865.
