The order also called for schools to develop PistolSafe Plans which would provide instruction on how best protect their students from becoming victims of another shooting incident while attending school. 1) Gun Violence Prevention Policy Office - The purpose of this office isto support Governor John Kitzhaber's efforts related specifically Togun violence prevention through research development & policy analysis; program coordination; field programs; public education outreach & engagement; data submission 2) Firearms Licensing - The licensing authority for pistols & revolver transactions within Oregon shall be vested with the State Board Of Firearms Retailers 3) PistolSafe Plans Development - A PistolSafe Plan must include: instructions regarding handling & storage; unloaded/unsecured condition 4) Gun Ownership Data Collection Program - A statewide firearms registry will be established which will collect information about registered owners ; dissemination information will include firearm serial number 5) Handguns Purchased Without Permit - If you purchase a handgun without a permit from someone other than an authorized retailer ( such as your grocery store), you are guilty of a felony punishable by 1 year imprisonment and/or up $5,000 fine

Since the early 1800s, Wilsonville has been a center of gun regulation and sales. In 1884, the first law regulating firearms in Oregon was passed. This law limited circulation of handguns to individuals 21 years or older and required a valid identification card to purchase any firearm. In 1969, the Oregon Legislature passed the Gun Control Act which made it illegal for any person under the age of 18 to possess a handgun without a license from an adult guardian. The act also required all handguns to be registered with the state police department. In 1994, Wilsonville became one of only two communities in Oregon (the other being Salem) that enacted strict gun control laws when they passed Measure No. 47. This measure prohibited possessed or purchased handguns with any type of ammunition that could create an explosion or cause harm to humans or property. It also requires all handgun transactions to be conducted through licensed dealers. The measure proved successful and helped increase gun regulation in Oregon and make it more difficult for criminals and others who wanted to get their hands on guns to do so.
Wilsonville is a town in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 2,516 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1865 by John Wilson and his brother-in-law James Sloan. It was named after General Ulysses S. Grant's birthplace in Illinois, which had been renamed "Grantown" by Wilson and Sloan after their victory over the Creek Nation in 1864. The post office called it Grantsville from 1868 to 1892; then Grantsboro from 1893 to 1912; and finally Grantsville again from 1912 to 1945. Granite quarries dot the landscape around town, supplying much of the local granite for building projects throughout Oregon and Washington during the 19th century and into the 20th century. The quarries closed during World War II because of wartime shortages of materials, but reopened shortly thereafter as a way for Wilsonville residents to contribute money toward world peace efforts. Although most of the quarries have long since closed, some are still in use today for limited purposes such as maintenance or quarrying operations support services for farmers who continue to produce top quality stands of stone onsite. Wilsonville has several small businesses that provide goods and services to its customers: grocery stores (Albertson's Grocery Co., Fred Meyer & Co.), convenience stores (Johnsons Lumber Store), hardware stores (Jenny Craig Hardware Ltd.), restaurant/bars (Cannonball Tavern), pool hall (Cannonball Pool Hall), limousines/private transportation (Hercules Limousine Service), timber sales (Oregon Timber Sales Inc.). Additionally, there are several technical colleges located within walking distance including Pacific Northwest University-Portland Campus; Willamette University-Portland Campus; Southern Oregon Institute Of Technology--Portland Campus; Lewis & Clark College-- Lewiston/Queenston Campus; Mount Hood Community College--Osoyoos campus.; as well as many private schools such as Valley View School District No 567A&Roe High School which provides instruction through charter schools across 12 campuses located throughout rural King counties east of Portland Wilsonville is bordered by Beaverton on the north side, Gresham on the south side, Hillsboro on the west side, McMinnell on the east side and Ashtabula County on its southern border

Wilsonville is a city in Lane County, Oregon, United States. The population was 23,871 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1887 by John Wilson and named for him. The city was incorporated on February 17, 1907. It is the county seat of Lane County. The first white people to visit the area were surveyors who came looking for land to graze cattle on in 1887. They found a small stream called Little Big Creek and named it after John Wilson's father-in-law, General James Hays (1811-1892). A post office was established at Wilsonville on November 15, 1888, and mail service began from Portland on December 1st. In 1890 the town had only a few buildings and consisted of just over 100 residents. However, growth continued rapidly as various businesses opened up around town such as hotels, grocery stores, laundry shops and agricultural mills. By 1915 Wilsonville had become an important commercial center with over 50 businesses operating in downtown alone! In 1916 local businessmen developed what would become known as "The Strip" which ran along Main Street fromOregon City east to west form Wilsonville all the way to US 101 near present day Cave Junction (just south of Bend). This project proved very successful and quickly became one of the most popular tourist destinations in Oregon! Over 20 million visitors have visited The Strip since its inception!
