The first firearms in Oregon were pistols and rifles imported from the United States. The first gunsmith in Oregon was John R. Denton, who started his business in 1854. In 1865, James Waddell patented the first revolver in the United States. In 1872, A.W. Arnow began manufacturing shotguns and rifles in West Linn and continued to do so until 1902. Henry Jenson also manufactured shotguns here from 1897 until 1903. From 1907 to 1912, Harry Laughlin made rifles in West Linn and continued to do so until 1924 when he moved his production headquarters to Portland. After World War II, many Westerners brought their firearms with them when they fled to California or other parts of the US during the post-war period of social upheaval known as "the Gun grabber." Many of these guns were melted down or simply never used again because they were not registered with the government as weapons under American law at that time (a process known as "gun registration").

West Linn is a small town in Oregon, located about 25 miles south of Portland. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. The community was founded in 1887 by John W. Goodwin and his family. Goodwin had been born in Linn County, Iowa, and arrived in Oregon with his parents in 1881. In 1886 he married Anna Hinton, who also came to Oregon from Iowa. The Goodnights were the first settlers in what is now West Linn. Goodwin homesteaded land on the eastern edge of town in 1887 and began to build a house that still stands today - the first structure built in West Linn. The Goodnights were also instrumental in founding the local school district which included West Linn as one of its districts. In 1907 Captain Harry Cramer donated land to establish a Regional Airport near what is now downtown West Linn. This helped make West Linn an important center for aviation transportation during World War II and later became home to Northwest Airlines passenger terminals and other airport services. Today, WestLinnie has many cultural attractions including the Heard Museum of Art, Pacific Science Center, Oregon State University's School of Forestry & Conservation, Powell Park Golf Course, Pioneer Square Shopping Center and several restaurants including Balthazar Bakery & Cafe and Rialto Pizza Company The economy ofWestLinnie has been largely based on agriculture since its founding; today much of the activity takes place within the larger city limits where there are more business opportunities available than within individual farms or portions of rural upcountry

West Linn is a small city in Oregon, located on the Willamette River. It was founded in 1875 by John Jacob Astor and his wife, Louise de Forest Astor. West Linn became an incorporated town in 1909. The population of West Linn was 26,644 at the 2010 census. The Astors were pioneers in Oregon and played an important role in its early history. John Jacob's father had been born in Sweden and moved to America when John Jacob was young. In 1837 John Jacob married Louise de Forest, who came from a distinguished American family. The couple had two children:John Astor and Anna DeForest Astor (1839-1924). They arrived in Oregon with their families for the journey west that would take them to what is now western Oregon. In 1875 they started building a house on the banks of the Willamette River near present day West Linn. The first permanent home built there was called "Pine Hollow". Over time, other settlers followed their lead and properties were developed along the riverbanks near present day West Linn and Salem. By 1912 it had become apparent that more people wanted to live near Portland so a decision was made to move closer to what is now known as Pioneer Square (then just east of downtown). Accordingly, on November 15th 1912, West Lint Town voted unanimously to change its name from Pine Hollow to Portland proper! Portland proper wasn't always easy for newcomers - during World War II many homes were destroyed or left empty because of wartime rationing restrictions; however, thanks largely to philanthropy by prominent citizens like Eugene Levy (founder of Levy's Chinese restaurant), many new homes have since been erected in Portland Proper over time! Finally joining the mainstream has been both good news for economy as well as bad news for some residents - due bothto gentrification rates within Portland proper as wellas continued growth outside of it – many property values have plummeted over time! However, despite these challenges headway has been made towards stabilization – most recently with mayor Charlie Hales' proposal for increased development around Pioneer Square!
West Linn was founded in 1847 by Captain George Vancouver and his brother, William. The town was named for the fast flowing Willamette River to the south. The first settlers were farmers who grew corn, wheat, and other crops. By 1860, West Linn had a population of about 150 people. In 1872, the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company built a line from Portland to West Linn. This opened up new markets for goods brought overland from California. Businesses such as stores, restaurants, and hotels began to grow around the town. In 1906, West Linn incorporated as a city. The growth of the city led to increased development around it and its schools became more comprehensive and modern than those in nearby towns.
