They made their first sale of ammunition for shotguns at their house on 12th Street between Morrison and Washington avenues. From there, they began selling magazines as well. The Powers brothers were very successful and soon other people joined in the business. In 1951, Harry died suddenly, leaving behind his Sons John and Donnie Powers who continued operation of the shop until 1977 when it went out of business.
West Linn is a town in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 3,878 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Portland–Vancouver–Fremont Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that would become West Linn was first settled by people from England in 1847 after British Columbia became a U.S. state. The first post office in what is now West Linn was established in 1857, and the town was named for General James K. Polk who served as President of the United States from 1840 to1848 and as governor of Oregon from 1853 to 1861. In 1862, because of its location on the Willamette River, West Linn became known as "The City of Roses." In 1872 an important gold rush began in Western Oregon and led to increased demand for goods exported to California; this also caused an influx of immigrants into the region which directly impacted development in West Linn and other nearby towns such as Sandy (now Salem) and Corvallis. With railroad transportation becoming available throughout most of America during this time period, settlement began expanding rapidly alongOregon's east coast; by 1900 there were over 100 communities located within 20 miles (32 km) ofPortland with a total population size of over 245,000 people! During World War II many women worked at defense plants in western Oregon; these plants are often cited as one reason why northwestern Oregon retains a strong agriculture base today despite having no navigable rivers or lakes%. Following World War II many residents moved away from agricultural-dominated lifestyles to larger metropolitan areas closer to Interstate 5 but their memories live on through activities like Pumpkinfestivals held every October since 1955 or various art galleries located near downtown Portland which attract locals and visitors alike!

In 1847, the first white person to settle in what is now West Linn County was Capt. James H. Cline. He and his family were the first non-native people in the area. In 1850, a post office called "West Linn" was established, and remained in operation until 1904. The Oregon Trail passed through West Linn on its way from Oregon to California.
