The firstguns were brought to Tualatin in 1885 by A.C. Searles, a rancher and entrepreneur who had emigrated from England. The guns were used for hunting small game such as deer, rabbit, and squirrel. In 1903, the first rifle factory was established in Tualatin by J.A. Sauer and his brother-in-law John Meeks. The company produced rifles under the name Winchester Repeating Arms Company until it merged with Remington in 1923.

In 1876, Friedrich Koenig invented and released the world's first true 3D gunsight which used an objective lens with three concentric circles that allow users to see targets up close while wearing polarized sunglasses or corrective lenses if necessary. Called "Koenig's Scope," this new sighting system quickly became popular among airgunners and shotgunners who needed accurate aiming at extremely close distances. 2
Tualatin, Oregon is a small town located in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon. The town was founded by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1804 as Fort Hall. It was renamed Tualatin in 1907 after the discovery of gold at the nearby Tualatin River. The city's population reached 30,000 during its peak in 1925, but has since decreased to 11,500 today. The first European settlers arrived in present-day Tualatin in 1847 as part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. They were led by Horace Greeley and built trading posts on Snake River and Clearwater Creek with the hopes of finding new resources for their trip through Central America. After years of exploration, they did not find any new resources but did discover significant amounts of silver and gold near what is now Eugene, Oregon. In 1855, Congress passed an act creating a Territorial government for Oregon which included Tualatin among its territory. The city became an incorporated village on July 1, 1906 under the name of Portland Municipal Corporation (PMC). In 1920 it merged with Eugene to form City of Eugene (CE). On February 14th, 1926 PMC merged with Portland into one municipality effective date .governance ordinances were amended to reflect this change so that all citizens within Portland were treated as if they had also joined City of Eugene
Tualatin, Oregon was founded in 1847 as a small trading post on the banks of the Willamette River. It grew rapidly as a lumber and agricultural center, becoming one of the most important railroad towns in Oregon. The city was renamed Tualatin in 1923 after its founder, James W. Tualatin.
