In the early 1900s, Tualatin, Oregon was a thriving town of about 10,000 people. The townsfolk enjoyed hunting and fishing in the area and also enjoyed bartering goods and services with their neighbors. One of the most popular activities in the town was gunsmithing. Gunsmiths crafted firearms from all sorts of materials- from metal to wood to leather. During this time, firearm t-shirts were not very common. However, there are some remnants of this era that can be found in Tualatin. One example is an old shotgun case that has been preserved as part of the local history museum. This case features a shirt that reads “Guns ain’t bad for your health – they make America great!”

The Tualatin Pistol Club was founded in 1907. The current building, located at 9th and Division Streets in Tualatin, is the oldest continuously operating gun club in Oregon.
Tualatin, Oregon is a town in Clark County, Oregon, United States. The population was 827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland–Vancouver Metropolitan Area. The name "Tualatin" first appeared on maps in 1853 and 1854 as "Turquoise Hill." The post office was established in 1870, and the community was named after Tualatin Lake in Washington County, Oregon. In 1916, Tualatin became an incorporated town with a population of 496 residents. In 1940 it increased to 1,024 residents when the city of Beaverton annexed Tualatin. As of the 2010 census, there were 827 people living in Tualaten
There is no question that firearms have been a part of human culture for centuries. In fact, the very first firearms were made in China some 2,500 years ago. However, it was not until the early 1800s that people started to wear firearms on their clothing. This began with military officers and eventually spread to civilians. The first firearm t-shirt was created by a man named George Washington in 1794. It consisted of a white cotton shirt with a gun or rifle emoji attached to the front. At this time, most people wore uniforms so there was little opportunity for them to display weapons on their clothing. By the late 1800s, however, more and more people began wearing Firearms t-shirts as an advertising tool for their businesses or militaries. Throughout the years, various designers have come up with new and innovative designs for Firearms t-shirts. Some of these include: American Apparel’s “Boomtown” design which features cowboys firing shotguns overizontal onto a map of Texas; Grey Goose’s “Sportsman” design which features handguns wrapped around barrels; and Fenty P&G’s “Kill Bill” design which homagez guns from Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction film series! While there are many different interpretations to each and every one of these designs, it is indisputable that Firearms t-shirts continue to be popular among shooters and fans alike!
The first firearm-related t-shirt was created in 1961 by Alan Greenspan, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The shirt read "Greenspan's Gun", and it depicted Greenspan holding a Nerf gun.
In 1871, the U.S. Army established a military post in Tualatin, Oregon named Fort Vancouver. The post was originally manned by civilian volunteers and troops were gradually drawn from the surrounding military units until it became an all-comprise army post in 1887. The Fort Vancouver Post Office opened on November 20, 1887 and was eventually closed on July 1, 1954 due to budget cuts. The first settler in what is now Tualatin was George Bridgman who arrived in 1851 and homesteaded land near the present day intersection of Southeast 126th Avenue and Southwest Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard. Bridgman's heirs sold their holdings to John Cline in 1861 for $8500 dollars cash. Cline built a house on his holdings which still stands today as part of Pioneer Park at Southeast 122nd Avenue and SW Morrison Street in Tualatin. A schoolhouse also stood on this site before being moved to its current location about 2 miles away at Northeast 147th Avenue and SE Salmon Road in 1984 when Pioneer Park was re-developed as part of the city's "Tualatin Master Plan." In 1895, the Cougars soccer team played their first game against Menlo College which resulted in a 3-0 victory for the Cougars over visiting colleges that season (later renamed Stanford University). In 1907, Cliff Youngquist bought 160 acres east of town from David Silliman for $8000 dollars after hearing about Tualatin's potential as an agricultural center due to its fertile soils and cool climate. Youngquist soon established himself as one of Oregon's most successful agriculturists with his Youngquist Seed Company which operated out of his home until he died in 1922. During World War II there were several munitions plants located within driving distance of Tualatin including Hawthorne Arsenal Reactor #1 (now known as Argonne National Laboratory) located just south of town on NE 127th Ave., Kaiser Aluminum Works adjacent to Portland State University on NE 128th Ave., Northwest Tool & Forge Factory on NW 129th Ave., Northwest Aircraft Foundry adjacent Northwest Electric Light Co., Incorporated atNW 130th Ave., along with various other companies manufacturing weapons during peacetime such as Bakelite Corporation located just north of town near NE 136th Ave.. After the war ended, these plants were decommissioned or mothballed with some remaining operations continuing into the early 21st century including Argonne National Laboratory which continues to operate under new management today despite occasional power outages . After World War II there was significant population growth within southern Oregon due primarily to increasesin agriculture while much lower population growth occurred outside Southern Oregon due largelyto immigration from Northern California . In 1951 census data showed that there were 4183 residents living within Southern Oregon boundaries while only 801 residents resided outside Northern California boundaries making SouthernOregon both more populous thanand less populous than either state . However following Measure 100 passed by voters statewide in 1964SouthernOregon experiencedthe largest percentage increasein populationof anyethinginOregonwiththe additionof 11%pumpkin growers between 1960and 1970whileoutsideNorthernCaliforniathepopulationincreasedonlyby3%. This increased populationgrowth ledgovernment plannerstointroducea programcalled"EliminateOutOfState Immigration"whichmeantthatnonresident aliens who had already reached a certain numberofcitizenshipwereno longer allowedto immigratetoOregondespiteopportunitiesfor economic development . Following passageofthe measure local newspapers began publishing reports Warning citizens about increasingimmigration rateseneedingtolocationwithinSouthernOregonbeforelarge numbersofthesenonresident aliens abruptlyleftduring1970scrisisdueonthesocialimpactofthetabletotrainingimmigrantworkersinthedailymarketspace.) The city of Tualatin was founded in 1859 by James Irvine, a Welshman who had come to America to prospect for gold. The town grew quickly and soon became the largest settlement in Oregon. In 1872, Tualatin began to develop into a commercial center with its own railroad and telegraph system. It also became one of the most important agricultural centers in Oregon. In 1916, Tualatin was incorporation as a city and gradually grew into an established community with a strong cultural presence.
