Troutdale is a small town in Oregon, located east of Portland. It is known for its Troutdale Museum, which was created in 1983 to commemorate the history of Troutdale and the surrounding area. The museum has a collection of over seventy-five thousand items, including rifles, shotguns, optics, fishing gear, and more. Troutdale is a small town in central Oregon, located about 60 miles northeast of Portland. The population was 5,503 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Lane County. The first European to visit Troutdale was Captain James Cook on his third voyage around the world in 1779. He named it after George Washington's estate near modern-day Georgetown, Virginia. While Washington and other Americans were busy at home building their country's capital (Washington City) on the Potomac River, Cook sailed by and passed by Troutdale on his way back to England. In 1872, John Sutter founded Sutter's Gold Rushtown here and began extracting gold from the nearby mountains. The town grew rapidly with its many businesses that supplied everything from groceries to mining supplies to post office services. By 1907, Troutdale had become one of Oregon's largest towns with over 20 stores and 100 resident families plus an additional dozen or so business people who rented space in buildings such as warehouses or hotels when necessary. The post office moved to its current location in 1916 from a property east of town along what is now US Highway 101 where local farmers had been able to lease land for a mail service stopage depot originally built for wagon trains coming down the Snake River watershed en route to points northward along I-5 during the early days of rail travel through this area of central Oregon. growth finally stalled somewhat during World War II due to wartime shortages of food, materials and labor; however, postwar prosperity brought new development including several large housing developments which replaced much smaller businesses which included most notably JGB Mining Company until its closure in 1984 having mined over 1 million tons of coal since 1951 while also employing over 350 workers locally including many women; however these enterprises too ultimately closed or were sold off during later economic times leading eventually to today’s struggling economy dominated by small family owned businesses serving primarily local customers rather than exportations like JGB Mining Company once did before it made national headlines again!

However, despite these controversies, spotters have always been important part of astronomical research and observation.
The first scopes were designed to correct errors in aiming by focusing a beam of light upon an object. The name given to these early devices was "telescopic" because they could be used outdoors on long, telescoping tubes. In 1836, the British astronomer John Herschel developed a telescope that could be placed inside a dark room so that it could reach high mountain peaks and observe them directly. In 1854, Heinrich Hertz constructed the world's first true reflecting telescope, which he called the "Hertz-sprung" or "Hertz reflector." This instrument allowed astronomers to see stars and planets much more accurately than before because their images were able to be redirected back into space by reflection off of surrounding objects. In 1865, Edwin A. Armstrong developed a telescope known as the Armstrong-Crompton Telescope (AC) which was able to resolve details within about 1/5th of one meter at its highest magnification! This instrument has been referred to as the "grandfather" of modern scopes.

In 1935, OSU merged with Portland State University to form Portland State University/Oregon Health Sciences Center (PURIHSC). URIHSC has since become one of Oregon's leading healthcare providers with over 100 clinics and hospitals across five states. Today, Troutdale is known for its relaxed lifestyle and natural environment. Residents enjoy fishing, hiking, picnicking, skiing, snowmobiling and more than 50 miles of bike paths around their city limits. There are also several bars and restaurants located within easy walking distance of each other - perfect for exploring this charming town without having to leave your doorstep!
Troutdale was founded in 1868 by John Trim and his family. The town is named after the Trout River, which flows through it. The first post office was established in 1870, and the first store opened in 1872. In 1893, the community was renamed Troutdale after H.L. Trout, a mining magnate who donated land for the town. By 1907, Troutdale had a population of around 100 people. During World War I, Troutdale served as an airfield for Allied fighter planes flying from nearby Portland. After the war, troutdale became known for its cheese production and other agricultural products.
