Tigard, Oregon is home to a number of gun stores and firearm hat companies. The history of these businesses can be traced back to the early 1900s when the community was founded. One of the first businesses in Tigard was a hat store called “The Hat Shop” which operated from 1903-1906. This business was located on First Street in the downtown area. In 1907, a new hat store named “The Pistolero” opened up on Southeast Sixth Avenue in Tigard. This business was started by John Prentice and his wife Effie Prentice. The couple ran this store for many years until it closed in 1967. In 1911, a new hat company called “The Gunman’s Hat Company” was established in Tigard by H L Menckenberger and his wife Anna Menckenberger. This company operated from 1911-1959. From 1912-1914, theMenckenzers ran an additional hat store called “The Pioneer Hat Store” on Northeast Fourth Street in Tigard. This store also served as their factory for producing firearms Hats. In 1916, the Menckenzers opened up a secondHat Store called “The Riflesmiths” on Northwest Third Avenue in Tigard which became successful enough that they decided to keep it open indefinitely! In 1933, another gun store name change took place when The Armoury changed its name to The Arms Dealer Incorporated (ATA).ATA had been founded by William Tatum and his brother Harry Tatum in 1922 after they bought an old clothing establishment called The Armoury Catalog Company Ltd..ATA soon became one of Portland’s most successful firearm retailers with several stores throughout Oregon and Washington state! In 1936, ATA moved its headquarters from Vancouver to Tigard where they continued operations until their closure in 1984! In total, ATI had five locations throughout Oregon: Vancouver (which closed 1976), Eugene (closed 1978), Salem (closed 1985), Portland (opened 1984) and Seattle WA (opened 1990). Tigard, Oregon is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. The population was 17,853 at the 2010 census. Tigard is the county seat of Multnomah County and home to the main campus of The University of Oregon. Tigard is located on the banks of the Willamette River. The first permanent European American settlement in what became Multnomah County was made in 1847 by Captain George Vancouver and his party as part of their journey from California overland to what is now Portland. British Columbia had been conquered by Mexico two years earlier and so this group were looking for a new land claim after sailing upriver from San Francisco Bay. They found an area that bore their name—Tigard Township—on October 15, 1847. Tigard's early growth was due to its location along the riverbank where goods could be shipped directly to Portland or other cities on the continent for export. Cotton ginning began in Tigard in 1854 and soon there was a thriving cotton industry with mills producing everything from textiles to flour to whiskey. The town also became known for its Produce Exchange Market which offered local residents access to fresh produce from all over Oregon and Washington without having to leave their homes or go into town for shopping. In 1907, when Multnomah County was created from portions of Salem and Portland counties, Tigard became one of its initial municipalities within that new county system. It continued being served by a separate sheriff's office until 1915 when it merged with that of neighboring Milwaukie into one unified entity under then-Sheriff Tom Simpson's jurisdiction

Tigard, Oregon is a city located in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 30,866 at the 2010 census and it is the second most populous city in Clackamas County after Hillsboro. Tigard was founded in 1887 by Cornelius Tolpin and named for Danish explorer Thorvald Tigard who had explored the area in 1877-79. The original town site was on a peninsula on the Willamette River that was part of what is now Olympia. A ferry operated from downtown to the new town site until 1912 when ferries became trucks. The first store opened in 1911 and there were six schools before 1915 when timber began to be exported from the area and those schools were closed. In 1925, Tigard incorporated as a city with a population of 10,000 people. It grew rapidly due to its location near Interstate 5 and its access to commercial fishing resources which allowed it to become one of the largest cities in Oregon by 1930 with an estimated 20,000 residents. In 1960, Tigard annexed portions of neighboring Portland creating what is now known as Portland-Tigard annexation which increased its size by another 10% when other adjacent municipalities added their populations into the city limits over time In 1980s Tigard experienced rapid growth due to high-yield agriculture production but also saw growth in services such as health care and light industrial manufacturing However during 2008–2009 recession certain sectors experienced decline while others created jobs Nowadays Tigard remains an important center for education and economic development with strong job growth throughout much of suburban areas east of I-5
