Bipods are a type of foot-worn walking stick used in many parts of the world. In 1920, however, severalavid businessmen decided to start anew with a new mine at St. Helens after finding similar deposits elsewhere in the state (the only other major discovery within Oregon during this time). The company named itself American Mines Incorporated and continued to search for gold until it ceased operations in 1962 (although some small amounts still are being mined today). Just like everything before it including devastating floods from weather patterns changes things changed with another big earthquake measuring 7 on Richter Scale hit Snohomish County WA near Tacoma on February 2nd 1980 killing almost 60 people mainly merchants workers there was great fear it could happen here too due to all those dams upstream SNOHOMISH COUNTY WASHINGTON STATE AGE: 68 YEARS
In 1879, a group of Mormon settlers established St. Helens as the first town in Oregon. The town grew rapidly due to its position along the river and its location near the main transportation outlet for the region. In 1898, St. Helens became an incorporated city and continued to grow until it reached its current size.
