By 1902, all of eastern Oregon had been incorporated into Multnomah County so there were no longer any towns or villages with their own identities. However, some people in Sherwood continued to call themselves by their original names until they were finally changed in late 2006 when Multnomah County approved an ordinance changing all village names to city names beginning with M-O-R-S-H-. This change became effective January 1st, 2007. Today there are only a few buildings left from when Sherwood was a thriving community with more than 2,000 residents back in 1907 including many churches, schools and businesses: Main Street Methodist Church & School; First Baptist Church; Masonic Temple; Pioneer Christian Radio Station; Masonic Lodge #1 (first lodge inside building since 1907); Presbyterian Church (ankle deep redecorated 1905); Willamette Valley Nursery & Day Care Center; Hitching Post Inn (now KOIN 6 News Building). A few other structures survive from when Sherwood housed more people than it does now but most have been replaced by newer homes or businesses: David Lloyd House (); Beechcroft Hotel (); Hawthorne Drugstore (); Oregon Highway Patrol Barracks ().
