Oregon State University (OSU) has been located here since 1862 when its predecessor known as Oregon Agricultural College (OAC) moved from Hillsboro to originally be south of Interstate 5 near Beaverton but then east past Hillsboro across I-5 toward Eugene before finally relocating northward into what is now OSU's campus near Parkrose Drive NE which resides today on land donated by former OSU President Neil Armstrong himself between 1969-1971 during his time as chancellor emeritus at PSU
