Redmond, Oregon is a town located on the Willamette River in the far-southwest corner of the United States. The population was 20,000 as of 2010, and its economy is based on technology and software development. As such, the town has a rich history related to firearms and shooting protection. The first gun in Redmond was an 8 shot revolver made by Smith & Wesson. It was used for target practice in the early 1800s. In 1899, Eugene Stoner founded Stoners Firearms Company in Redmond with his father, George Fenton Stoner Sr., and brothers Harry and Everett Laughlin. The company manufactured shotguns, pistols, rifles, ammunition and other firearms until it merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1978 to form Winchester Brands Incorporated (Winchester). In 1886 immigrants from Hungary settled near what is now downtown Redmond while working on a farm that became known as “H’eady Hill” because of its high content of haystack rocks. On October 15th 1887 James Fenton opened his store at 9th Avenue SW which became the first gunsmith shop west of the Rocky Mountains in America when he constructed an eight shot revolver using parts from an old English rifle stock. This shop would serve as a nucleus for many businesses that would proliferate around Redmond over ensuing decades including Stoners Firearms Company (1899-1978), Jens Jensen Guns (1902-1970), Western Gun Shop (1911-1963), Norma Mfg Co.(1929-1981), Cascade Pistol Corp.(1936-1975) and finally American Armory(1969-) which closed its doors after 90 years. Many current residents were born or have lived here during these periods including Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen who purchased land adjacent to H’eady Hill in 1922; CTO Rich Miner who started production at American Armory in 1969; Bob Hope whose 1950s TV show aired here; current Mayor John Sulka; developer Donny Weingarten; shooter Jeff Cooperstein; and Steve Schmidt who played news anchor on KOMO 4 News from 1990 to 2006

The first store opened in 1903 at what is now 5th Avenue Northwest and Park Road Northeast; it was known as "The Territorial Store." In 1907, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen bought 3/4 acre (2 ha) northeast of present day Redmond for $10 per acre ($320,000 today). He named his new company Microsoft Corporation after his then-brothers Harriman (arguably one of the greatest investors in American history) and Nelson Rockefeller (the father of New York City Mayor Bloomberg). In 1916, when Washington Mutual collapsed due to investment fraud, Microsoft acquired all outstanding shares for $50 each; this made him oneof the largest shareholdersin Washington Mutual but did not cause its collapse because he had no ownership stake therein! In 1940,Microsoft moved its principal offices from Seattle to Bellevue following World War II growth within Boeing Airlines which had relocated there from Tempe Arizona under president Harry Stonecipher’s leadership. By 1970 Redmond had grown so much that it necessitated an expansion program which added another 100 acres (40 ha) eastward on top of an existing housing development called Indian Hills Ranch into whichMicrosoft already had some land holdings from its time as part of Federal Air Service radio operator license #1 back during World War I! The total cost for this project was about $200 million (!), including both new buildings – including a large hangar –and improvements to old ones such as better water availability, sewerage systems and sidewalks throughout town square adjacent to Lake Sammamish! If rifle has side-by-side feeder system, make sure both barrels feeding into same magazine are lined up correctly before firing begins
