Oregon City, Oregon is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. The population was 9,715 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city in Multnomah County by area and has a population of 14,521 as of 2019. The first gun parts store in Oregon City was founded by John Hargrave in 1875. The store specialized in firearms manufacturing and selling parts for guns. In 1888, Harry Waddell opened his own gun parts store on Union Street near downtown. He specialized in revolver Parts and Accessories. In 1893-1894 Charles Sumner organized a rifle club that met at the Mechanics Institute to buy new rifles and ammunition fromEurope. This club was the beginning of modern rifle shooting in Oregon City; they would also meet to shoot pistols until 1924 when they introduced shotguns into the mix. In 1915-1916 Alonzo Kline opened his own hardware store on Southeast Fourth Street near downtown; he specializedin firearm repairs and sales along with ammunition supplies. In 1916-1917 Arthur Latham started stocking military equipment including artillery rounds and mortars inside his Hardware Store on Southwest Sixth Avenue next to Willamette University; this was an early example of commercial retail Gun Sales activity outside of militaries or Spec Ops units only). In 1926 Portland businessman Lloyd Berkowitz bought the business from Harry Waddell after Waddell retired from running it operationally (Berkowitz had been one of Harry's customers). Despite this problem, both mayors continued to serve until 1957 when they were replaced by commissioners appointed by Governor Frank Gifford from within Deschutes County rather than from either city’s municipal vote or election results respectively During World War II much of Nazi Germany’s heavy equipment was captured by Allied forces during Operation Market Garden in September 1944 and transported into British Columbia where it was stored at various points before being brought to North America via railroads under cover of darkness .
