Oregon City is located in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, just northwest of Portland. The city was founded on February 12, 1868 by Hugh C. Morrison and James W. Watt as a sawmill and lumberyard community called "Oregon City." The first store opened in 1870, and the first gun mag was published in 1872. Oregon City became a center for the American Rifle Association (ARA) in 1886, and served as its headquarters from 1898 to 1902. In 1906, Oregon City became the site of their annual meeting which led to the founding of the NRA's Washington D.C. branch that year. The Oregon City Gun Mag had its heyday during World War II when it was one of only two remaininggun magazines left in America that printed full-page ads for ammunition and firearms (the other being Guns & Ammo magazine). The magazine's editors also contributed articles to prominent journals such as Harper's Bazaar and Life magazine during that time period. However, due to economic pressures after World War II, the Oregon City Gun Mag slowly ceased publication between 1951-1955 while they were reborn as Guns & Ammo Magazine again under new ownership with an editorial staff made up exclusively of veteran gun owners/writers/photographers/etc.). In recent years, there has been sporadic reprinting of old issues back into circulation but no plans for an online presence beyond occasional blog posts or social media updates; however original content continues to be preserved on our archived website for future reference purposes alone!

Multnomah County had been created in 1850 as part of John Sellers' suggestion for dividing land between himself and his two sons—George Sellers and Salmon Pyle—on the west side of Millstream Valley east of Salem. The first courthouse was built in 1861 on what is now First Division Street near what is now SW 12th Avenue; it served as both court house and jail until 1865 when Congress passed laws providing for local government under state jurisdiction In 1872–73, John Sellers donated land to build a public library which still stands today at NE 30th Avenue and Stark Street within walking distance of downtown Oregon City proper The first school in Oregon City opened its doors to students on November 3rd, 1875 In 1876–77, James Fenton donated land northward along NE 24th Avenue fromSW 11th Avenue toNE 45th Avenue which formed what is now NW 4th Place (Fenton's donation included this block today) further south he donated an area northeast cornerNW 7TH Place fromSW Brooklyn Boulevard toNW 9TH Place forming NE 6TH Place ; these donations remain significant landmarks in Northwest Portland today Finally on February 2nd1878 without fail each year during February business men met at Fenton’s store front room upper William Street between Clayoquot Way Southwest (now SE 29th Ave)and Sandy Blvd.,to transact business concerning their respective jurisdictions held annual meeting thenceforth called “The Gadsden Conference” This Meeting resulted In action taken Which provided for election Of Officials And Constables For Each District Which Incorporated As A Town On January 1st1879 . At This Time There Were Just Seven Citizens Living In Town & Membership Was Open To Any Resident OfPortland Who Wished To Be Present

Today, only a few remnants of its past remain including one of Oregon City's first churches which is still used occasionally for services.
