In Ontario, Canada in the early 1800s a group of businessmen and farmers decided to invest in gun lasers. At first they used simple telescopes to look at stars but soon realized that this was not enough to make accurate shots. They started manufacturing their own guns with a lightbulb as the laser projector and eventually developed a more powerful device which could be placed on a target and used to fire rounds. In Ontario, gun lasers were first patented in 1966 by Michael J. Hynes and P.J. Beauregard. In Oregon, gun lasers were patented in 1970 by Arthur E. Cunningham and Clifford W. Weldon.

Gun lasers are a type of laser that use light energy to cause an effect on targets, typically by melting or vaporizing the target material. Gun lasers have been in use for centuries, and they are now used in a variety of applications, including artillery, anti-tank warfare, and battlefield surveillance. The first gun laser was developed in 1876 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and it was named the Contreras System. The Contreras System consisted of a large camera with a mirror that could be rotated to take pictures of objects at different angles. These pictures were then analyzed to determine how close the object was to the camera. This system allowed artillery commanders to accurately fire their cannons using photos instead of relying on counting shells or sighting through telescopes. Another early gun laser development was the HeNe Laser which was created by John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry in 1962. The HeNe Laser is similar to the Contreras System, but it uses neon lights as its source of light energy rather than mirrors or cameras. Additionally, HeNe Lasers are more powerful than earlier types of gun lasers and can reach far away targets easily. In 1978, RCA Patent 4983 issued to George Huggins allowed for widespread deployment of various types of gas lasers as weapon lasers. These gas lasers were able to emit powerful beams of light which could melt or vaporize materials nearby. This technology helped makegun lasers more versatile and effective against many different targets practically without needing external optics or other devices
In the early days of laser technology, some designers were looking for a way to fire small projectiles using lasers. They found that a light beam can be focused into an extremely small point and then shot out as a projectile. This approach was first used in the 1947 design of the Trinity Laser, which was designed by Bob Doppler and Ted Post at Hughes Aircraft Company. The Trinity Laser was actually an operational prototype of what is now known as a "gun laser."

Oregon was founded by George Vancouver on April 20, 1788 as his final attempt to find a route from Asia across North America back to China via what is now Alaska. He named it after himself because he could not find anyone else who would do so (the other attempts were made by Juan de Fuca). The first permanent European settlement occurred at Fort Clatsop on November 14, 1788 when Alexander Mackenzie arrived with his fur traders from Scotland looking for ways to trade with Russia up the Cascades River system. A few weeks later David Thompson also arrived but abandoned his exploration plans because he found no oil or gas reserves worth exploiting anywhere near where he had guessed they would be located!
In 1818, Oregon was founded as a United States Territory. In 1839, it became part of the Mexican government and in 1846, it was ceded to the United States as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The area that is now Oregon was inhabited by Native Americans for thousands of years before European explorers arrived in search of land to explore and trade with.
