Milwaukie, Oregon is a city located in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. The population was 42,711 at the 2010 census. It is the third-largest city in Multnomah County after Portland and Salem. The area that now makes up Milwaukie was first settled by families of English and German descent in 1848 as part of the Willamette River valley during the gold rush. The city's name comes from a word meaning "milk way" or "a route leading to a place where milk can be bought." In 1872, John Wesley Powell named it for Samuel Milwaukie, an American member of Parliament who had helped organize British Columbia into an empire. Milwaukie has seen many changes over its history. In 1900 it was a small town with only 1,500 residents; within 25 years it had grown to become one of the largest cities in Oregon with over 100,000 residents. During World War II Milwaukie became known as one of the most heavily bombed areas in the United States because of its production of munitions plants and aluminum smelters. After the war ended, Milwaukie experienced rapid growth as people moved here to work in new industries such as information technology and biotechnology. Today Milwaukee remains an important center for cultural life and education within Multnomah County.

The provision also banned any handgun with an ammunition clip that could accept more than 10 rounds at a time. In 1973, Congress passed the Gun Control Act which made it illegal to possess certain types of handguns without registering them with the government and providing proof of ownership. It also made it illegal to sell or give away any handgun that did not meet these requirements. The Gun Control Act was followed by the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Bill in 1993 which required annual inspections for all firearms dealers and included provisions for bullet-resistant glass windshields on handguns sold in America. In 2004, President George W Bush signed into law The Protectionatecing American Workers Enforcement Improvements and Technical Corrections Act which strengthened background checks for firearm purchasers and increased penalties for those who violated these regulations. Bullet resistant glass windshield systems are now standard on nearly every car in America!

Milwaukie is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. The population was 9,898 at the 2010 census. The name Milwaukie comes from the Mahican language word "milwauk" meaning "a place where there are many beavers." The first European to visit what is now Multnomah County was Captain George Vancouver on July 14, 1792. He sighted the Columbia River and named it Puget Sound because he thought its water was like wine. In 1831 David Wilkes selected the site of Milwaukie as his new headquarters for Oregon Territory. A post office called "Milwaukie" was established in 1838 and remained in operation until 1861. During the early days of American settlement in Oregon, Milwaukie had a large population of Mohawk Indians who lived near present-day Pioneer Square. When white traders began coming to town in search of clams and other shellfish during the late 1800s, they brought with them their Indian friends and neighbors who also started trading goods back and forth between Milwaukie and their reservations. This turned into a very lucrative business for local merchants who became known as Coast Clam Merchants because they could trade fresh clamshells (and sometimes mussels) right upriver to market without having to go through Portsmouth or Tacoma or any other ports on the West Coast. The Klondike Gold Rush did not start until 1899 when prospectors discovered gold nearmileage 13 on the Klondike River system about 20 miles east of Milwaukie along Umatilla Creek. By 1906 over 1 million dollars had been mined from this area; however most of it were lost in surface sinking operations that followed discovery by later miners including Donald McKenzie and Harry Carver among others. In 1909 Multnomah County was organized under Washington Territorial Legislature Act No 97 which created District 10 within Multnomah County including parts of present-day Portland Township, Itcton Township, Cornelius Township and part of eastern Salem Township included within today's Portland city limits . On November 15th 1911 election officials met at Millstream Park located southeast corner Fourth Avenue South & Southwest Boulevard to count absentee ballots which resulted in localist candidate Jens Rasmussen winning unopposed election becoming county administrator just three years after being elected as an elector on November 3rd 1910 replacing incumbent John Hargrave who resigned due to health concerns related to his role with county government). In 1912 new courthouse built adjoining Millstream Park served as county seat until 1915 whenMultnomaweite City Hall replaced it which still stands today across from Interstate 5 bridge over Willamette River . At that time there were only two wards one comprising downtown businesses concentrated around Second Avenue South & Stark Street while milling district extending northeastward beyond SW 4th Ave Sbaugh Blvd then south along I-5 past Exeter Mall before terminating at NE Weidner Rd ; Ward 2 consisting mainly rural areas lying east/northern edge Of NW 4th Ave Sbaugh Blvd thence continuing generally northwestward paralleling I-5 but ending abruptly at riverside just west sideOf dam priorTo joining current City Limits
Milwaukie is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. The population was 37,291 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland metropolitan area. Milwaukie was founded on November 30, 1894 by Dr. John Sayers and his wife Fannie Sellers as a small town on the edge of what is now Milwaukie Lake. On January 1, 1907, Milwaukie became an incorporated city with its own government and police department. In 1916 it annexed portions of neighboring Holland Park and formed the enlarged city of Holland Park-Milwaukie which had a population of 58,715 as of 2000 census. On July 1, 2002, all but 871 acres (309 ha) of land within the City limits were transferred to the adjacent village of Milwaukie-Holland Park through annexation by that village from the city of Holland Park. In 1969Multnomah County established a Regional Transportation Authority that bought buses from Portland's Public Transit Company and operated them into downtown Portland for local residents who could not afford cars or transportation alternatives; this program continues today as SeaTac Bus Lines Inc., known locally as Metro bus service
