Milwaukie, Oregon is home to the largest ammunition manufacturing plant in the Pacific Northwest. The company was founded in 1903 by John A. Mathis and his brother, George D. Mathis, who manufactured shells for the military. In 1984, MUCI formed an alliance with Brownell Arms Corporation and began producing precision rifles under their brand names such as Ruger 10/22 rifles and Savage Model 789 shotguns using Brownells barrels and receiver parts interchangeably between both companies until 2000 when Ruger discontinued production of firearms entirely outside of America while Brownells continued manufacture inside America only for export purposes under their brand name alone (Brownells rifle dealers still offer foreign sales through these channels). There has been no product discontinuation at MILWAUKIECITY UTILITIES INCORPORATED since 1984 other than occasional updates or changes in product lines due primarily to new technology!
