After World War IImedian incomes increased as productivity improved and manufacturing became more common in nearby Portland. Today,Medford remains a small town with many unique aspects including its independent school system (dominated by public schools), vibrant arts scene (including several major museums) and strong community spirit that has kept it largely intact since its creation over 100 years ago
