Medford, Oregon is a city in the U.S. state of Oregon, located on the Willamette River. The population was 54,591 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Medford-Keizer-Bethpage metropolitan area and ranks as one of the most populous cities in Oregon. The name "Medford" was first given to this town by Jedediah Smith in 1827 when he and his party were exploring the area for a new home for his family after moving from Illinois. The first permanent settlement in what is now Medford was made by David Lewis and others near present day Hawthorne on January 24, 1847. This early settlement was mostly agricultural with only a small amount of housing erected until 1850 when John Day began purchasing land within what is now downtown Medford from Nathaniel Hawthorne for $1 per acre (the site where City Hall currently stands). In 1865, gold was discovered at Gold Hill which led to an intense rush to find gold nuggets that would be worth money; this drove many settlers out of their homes and onto ranches or into towns such as Salem or Portland where they could sell their produce back to those living close by. However, due diligence showed that there was no real gold available in these hills so mining continued sporadically until strikes started occurring along US 20 near present day Gresham during summer 1862 sparkinga migration of roughly 1,000 people towards Gresham while other families abandoned their homes east of US 20 because they did not see any potential return on investment other than potential raids during which time they lived under constant threat of robbery and possible fire if caught without immunity against such attacks. In 1863 two men named George Wickersham and James Hutton prospected southward off Interstate 5 between Eugene and Springfield before striking it rich with silver claims each producing $5 per tonne (versus $2 per tonne found previously). This led to a major push westward for people seeking opportunities for riches beyond their local areas; this also spurred businesses such as wagon transportation upriver from Eugene along I-5 to provide goods necessary for rapids downstream including lumbering mills established upstream along Whatcom River (). Some people refer to them as “standard” or “progressive” receivers, while others call them “A3” or simply “AR15.” All AR15 upper receivers share several common features, but there are also a variety of specific features that can make one receiver better than another. One important feature is the barrel shroud. A barrel shroud is a metal cover that Protects the barrel from damage during transport and storage. When it comes to AR15 rifles, barrel shrouds come in both standard ( plain ) and progressive ( see-through ) varieties. Standard barrels have no Shroud, while progressive barrels have an orange colored shroud that shows the chamber contents when you look through the Barrel Nut (shown in Figure 1). The advantage of having a barrel shroud is that it allows you to determine how much rounds per minute your rifle can handle before needing to replace it- something that can be difficult to do with a naked rifle! Another important feature on most AR15 upper receivers is the magazine well. A magazine well is a depression in the top rear of the receiver where magazines are stored. It's often seen on Standard and Progressive versions of these rifles, but can also be found on airsoft guns and some police models too! This depression helps preventMagazine misfires by increasing Magazine Capacity without increased weight or size! The last common feature on most AR15 upper receivers is either an accessory rail or iron sights (or both!).
