Their first meeting was held at The Running Horse Tavern in Lebanon. In 1916, the club changed its name to The Oregon Rifle and Pistol Association (ORPA). In 1921, ORPA became the Federation of American Shooting Clubs (FASC). In 1974, ORPA merged with the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) to become the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA). Today there are over 1 million members across the United States and Canada who participate in shooting sports. Lebanon, Oregon is a small town in the Cascade Range of the Pacific Northwest. The population was 5,819 at the 2010 census. It is located in Wasco County, about halfway between Portland and Seattle. The name "LeBane" comes from an Ohlone word meaning "the place where there are a lot of beavers." The first settler in Lebanon was John Linnell, who arrived in 1847. He named his land after his friend and business partner Benjamin Beaver. In 1872, James Heddle bought 2,000 acres of land from the Beavers for $30 per acre. He built a log cabin and started farming maize, beans and potatoes on what became known as Heddle's Landing. In 1875, he married Sarah Lyon and started to name their children after members of their families: Benjamin (Benjamin), Mary (Mary), Lydia (Lydia), Margaret (Margaret) and Chloe (Chloe). In 1881 when James died suddenly at age 67 from natural causes, his widow Sarah took over management of their farmsteads with her two daughters-in-law acting as trustees until they could find another husband to take over operationsally. When Sarah retired in 1907 she divided her estate among her five children; Benji inherited most of it while Nadine had one share left which she shared with her son Harry Dean Stanton before he died intestate in 1973 without any male heirs Harry Dean Stanton donated most of what remained to Lebanon School District #1 upon his death leaving behind an extensive collection including rare books, manuscripts and art objects that were added to by various school district administrators and staff during its more than half century history including current Superintendent Driscoll Adams About 50% or all items are currently on display in our library which reopened its doors on October 1st 2014 following a three year renovation project that included new classrooms/exhibition spaces addition to existing building as well as updated technologyincluding Wifi internet access throughout building along with brand new graphicsand sound system . During 1988-1992 I served as Director Of Libraries And Archives For The Lebane School District #1 . Upon my departure from LEBANE School District #1 effective January 1st 1993 the assets Of LEBANE School District #1 were transferred To Hood River Valley Community College District No 16 & Overland Park Community College District No 21 (& latter 4 districts changed Name To Lebane School District No 17 On Jan 1st 1995) Which left Lebanon Township dead End & Property changes hands constantly From family member To relative Etc etc etc

Lebanon is a small, rural community in the U.S. state of Oregon. The community is located on the Columbia River, about 20 miles south of Salem and 30 miles east of Portland. In 1851, Brothers Alfred and George Forest settled in what is now Lebanon and began farming cottonwoods near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. In 1886, United States Route 99 passed through Lebanon when it was added to the National Highway System; this highway became part of US 101 later that year. In 1951, a sawmill opened in Lebanon which continued operation until 1964 when it closed due to insufficient demand from customers; during its brief existence, it produced over 1 million boards per day for local homes and businesses. In 1978, following a referendum held by residents of neighboring communities along with input from county officials and business leaders, Beirut municipal incorporation was granted by voters statewide as a way to improve economic development within their borders while benefiting all citizens regardless of race or ethnicity; since then, Lebanese citizens have played an important role in both local government and business decisions within theircommunity.

By 1907, however, industry had become predominant in Lebanese society and business ventures stopped being developed; instead, agriculture became the dominant economic activity. With its limited resources and population size, Lebanon struggled during World War II until it joined America's allies against Nazi Germany. After 1945 it experienced rapid growth as numerous businesses opened up and new jobs were created. Today Lebanese culture is integral to many aspects of life here in Oregon – from music (especially rock) to cuisine (lakhoum).
