In 1850, George Stephenson arrived with his family from Illinois and founded Mud Lake Campground east of Lebanon on what are now State Route 20 (northwest corner SR#22) and SR#27 (southwest cornerSR#24). In March 1850 he subdivided sections 4 & 5 along State Route 20 into lots that were sold to settlers hereabouts for $1 each less $5 per acre lot frontage due to lack thereof at that time. By 1860 most all these parcels had been acquired by James Culpett and others through purchase or donation from Indians or other claimants thereto- making it one of the largest Donation land drives ever mounted in Oregon . It should be noted that although state route 22 has always followed its current alignment as far as Lebanon proper- southward/eastward extension being made possible via US 101 Alternatecano before it sliced through town center -the town core has been situated largely within neighborhoods developed since about 1970s adjacent to I-5 corridor between I-5 & Beaverton/Portland; continuing South Korean immigration settlement patterns dating back more than several decades preceding [this].

In 2001, Beirut obtained township status fromMultnomah County and became an independent municipality under its own governance system; it retained its name however for statistical purposes only. In 2007-08 when Multnomah County underwent a large budget cutbacks and eliminated most services such as police and fire protection services one year early due to economic conditions then-Sheriff Mike Reese called upon residents to help finance essential city services by hosting fundraisers for various city departments including streetlights being turned off nightly because there wasn't enough money to continue keeping them on during lean times while also cleaning streets which resulted in overflowing gutters which caused water damage throughout much of downtown businesses causing some layoffs among others and several people lost their jobs due to lack of insurance but many more got new jobs because they knew that if they didn't have those job security things would come tumbling down around them

Oregon was admitted to the Union as a state on January 29, 1846. The first U.S. Census of Oregon was taken in 1850, and it counted only residents of Clackamas County. As Oregon gradually became more populous, the census became increasingly important for political and social decision-making. In 1861, Oregon adopted a Constitution that granted voting rights to all citizens regardless of race or color.
