Lake Oswego, Oregon is a large and beautiful body of water located in the far northwestern corner of Oregon. The name Lake Oswego comes from the Oso River that flows through it. The body of water was first discovered by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1804. It was named for General John C. Fremont who explored it in 1825. The town of Oswego was founded on the site of present day Lake Oswego by American pioneers in 1853. The town grew rapidly due to its location, which made it an important transportation hub during the early days of Oregon’s statehood. In 1907, Lake Oswego became a city and remains so today. The history of Lake Oswego goes back to year 3000 BC when humans began living along its shores. One theory suggests that these early people were part of the Malheur Tribe which inhabited parts of what is now Oregon and Nevada at this time. By AD 1100, however, human activity had significantly decreased along this stretch of coastline due to rising sea levels as a result of plate tectonics/trends within Earth's crust! About two centuries later (around 1250), another wave OF people arrived in what is now Oregon from California via trade routes.. These newcomers were known as Pomo or Humboldt People because they spoke an Alaskan language called Athapaskan which shared some common features with modern-day spoken languages such as Spanish and Mandarin Chinese! It wasn't until 1794 that Russian fur traders discovered Benton Pass while exploring western North America after their journey across Siberia! This event sparked intense interest among Russia's leadership and led to Russia becoming interested in exploiting all aspectsof North America including land east of Hudson Bay! For several years following their discovery, Russian fur traders hunted down any animals they could find along the Pacific Coast - including mammoths and mastodons! Unfortunately for them, these animals were difficult to hunt because they were shy creatures accustomed to live near open country where trees grew tall enough to provide shade during hot summer months! In fact, one lucky Russian hunter even managed Tochka (a typeof deer) off Canada's coast singlehandedly!!! Consequently, overpopulation resulted in many native groups being pushed out or removed from coastal areas beginning around 1800AD!! In 1795AD Captain James Cook set sail for Asia on HMS Endeavour under captain Sir Robert Bruce who charted much new territory during his voyage!! Upon his return trip three years later he noted that "the coast here stretches away for upwards Of two hundred miles without interruption" – thus proving King George III's claim that British Columbia extended all the way to China!!!!! After four more voyages between 1798-1801ACCaptain Fitzroy Mackenzie visited Vancouver Island on HMS Discovery while supply ships sailed upriver laden with additional goods!! He noted "the high mountains surrounding us are backed by soft lowlands interspersed with long ditches filled with rich earth…. everywhere we looked there seemed ample means for cultivating corn" – thereby proving Mackenzie's earlier suspicions about an inland ocean !! However despite these discoveries by Europeans throughout most of North America!, no real progress was made until United States privateer USS Constitution reached Portland Harbor on February 26th Searching for tea smugglers operating from Canton Underway!!!! After landing 400 marines aboard her (including 5 US Marines), she sailed back upstream undetected before sailing into Puget Sound again four weeks later…..This event marked not only final link between Europe & United States but also opening up Northwest Territories newly acquired from Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
