When the first gun was invented in America, it used a trigger that had to be pulled to fire. The triggers on early rifles were very simple and required one hand to pull the trigger. For safety reasons, most rifle owners did not allow their firearms to fire until they were sure that someone else was not going to get hurt by the shot. Trigger pulls could take upquite a bit of time and effort, so it became common for shooters to use pre-loaded pistols as backups in case of an emergency. As firearms evolved, so did the triggers on them. Today, many handguns include triggers that can be operated with just one hand, making them much easier and faster to use than older rifles or shotguns. This change came about because people started using handguns more and more for self-defense instead of hunting or target shooting. The Klamath Falls Massacre took place on December 8, 1879, when a group of men and women in the town of Klamath Falls were killed by gunmen who had infiltrated the community as part of a power struggle over control of the local militia.
Klamath Falls is a city in Klamath County, Oregon, United States. The population was 6,477 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Klamath County. The first European to visit what is now Klamath Falls was Captain George Vancouver on July 25, 1792 while exploring Puget Sound looking for a route to Asia. He named the falls after his friend and mentor Dr. Joseph Willapa who lived in nearby Bend, Oregon at that time and he had been nagging Vancouver to explore the Cascade Range and find a way down to the Pacific Ocean. On October 7, 1805, Lt. John Caulfield sailed upriver from Fort Ross with an army of about 350 men under his command and discovered by chance that there were waterfalls near present day Klamath Falls on the way down from Mount Hood. This event led to American exploration of this area and soon after Klamath falls became part of Umpqua County which included much of what is now Multnomah County today. In 1864 when Portland was founded as the new capital of Oregon, many residents chose to move their businesses and residences eastward along Interstate 5 into what is now eastern Multnomah County (now Salem). In response to this growing town center development a football stadium/training ground called "Multnomah Stadium" was constructed between 1935-1936 adjacent to then-Klamath Falls High School (now known as Cascade Community College). The facility served as home field for both Portland Beavers baseball teams until 1969 when they moved westward across I-5 into Salem where they remain today. The original Multnomah Stadium site remains currently occupied by several buildings including: the Multnomah Bank building which serve as headquarters for both banks; Renaissance Hall which has been housekeeping facilities for more than two dozen schools located on three levels; Pioneer Park which serves as a community recreational area; and finally Health Sciences Center which contains offices for Lane Health Systems Inc., Mercy Medical Group Western Regional Clinic and Kaiser Permanente Northwest Healthcare System among others On November 20th, 2009 local officials announced that they had successfully completed construction on a brand new $60 million arena/parking garage adjacent to downtown Klamaths Falls – nicknamed "The New Home Arena" – that will replace aging Powerball Field located just north of downtown along NE Hwy 101A*. After years of planning it's completion is anticipated that The New Home Arena will become one of America's most popular sports venues hosting events such as NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship games*, NBA Games* & NHL Hockey games* amongst others! *As originally announced in fall 2009

The process of cocking a firearm is called loading, and can be done with either one hand or two hands. Firearms Trigger History began in 1892 when James Purdy patented his first cocking tool for shotguns. The patent was filed on October 3rd, 1892. In 1903 John Browning designed and patented his first striker-fired handgun which used a hammer system to cock the hammer before firing the round. Pistol trigger mechanisms date back to at least 1795 with Nicholas-Jacques Conte’s “Lionelhammer pistols”, although these were not striker-fired like later handguns. A striker-fired handgun will fire rounds by striking a metal plate that is attached to the barrel near the breech face; this results in gas pressure pushing the round into position within the magazine and then detonating when it comes into contact with another hard surface such as an arm or human head

The Klamath Falls area was first settled by the Clackamas and Multnomah tribes in the 1820s. The area was given its name from a large waterfall located on the Multnomah River. The falls were used for drinking, manufacturing, and trade before becoming a popular tourist destination in the early 20th century. In 1916, the United States Army built Fort Klamath near present-day Klamath Falls to protect against Japanese espionage operations. The fort served as a training ground for American soldiers during World War II. In 1951, the federal government sold Fort Klamath to Oregon State University and it became an educational center and research center. Today, Fort Klamath is part of OSU’s campus and it houses several R&D laboratories. The history of Portland begins with its incorporation as a city on April 4, 1892. The original location of Portland was on what is now called Waterfront Boulevard between Southwest Fourth Avenue and Broadway Street. At that time, only about 5 percent of Portland’s population lived within walking distance of downtown. By 1907, however, almost all of Portland had been annexed into the City of Portland proper. Portland’s annexation created a problem because streets north of First Avenue were designated as county roads while streets south of First Avenue were considered state roads. To solve this problem, City Council voted to reroute most of streetcar lines so that they ran east-west rather than north-south along streetcar tracks parallel to First Avenue (now Interstate 5). This change in routing helped makePortland one of the most developed cities in America during its early years. During World War II, Portland played an important role in both military and civilian efforts throughout Northwest Pacifcland through its production capabilities including aluminum Arsenal Ammunition Plants at Eastman Kodak Company studios on Naito Parkway near Burnside Bridge and Shipbuilding yards at McLoughlin Shipyards on SE Division Street between Belmont Boulevard and Morrison Road near old Chinatown
The Klamath Falls area was settled by the Lumbee tribe of Indians in the 1830s. The first Europeans to arrive in this area were the Willamette Expedition, led by Captain George Vancouver, in 1792. In 1825, John C. Fremont explored and mapped the Oregon Trail and named the river after him, Klamath River. In 1846, a group of miners led by John Sutter discovered gold near present-day Klamath Falls. The mining industry thrived until about 1870 when a combination of poor mine conditions and inflated prices for gold caused many mines to close. During World War II, local residents served in various military units including the Navy (1939-1945), Marines (1943-1945), and Air Force (1944-1945).
