Gun cleaning has been a part of the Oregonian community for as long as there have been firearms. The Klamath Falls Gun Club was organized in 1892, and the first Annual Meeting was held on November 10th. At that meeting, it was decided to establish a Committee on Gun Cleaning. The first committee member was Mr. Wm. Ladd who served for three years. In 1896, the club adopted a resolution which called for monthly examinations of all rifles and shotguns in use within the club by an examiners commission appointed by the Board of Directors. This resolution also provided for gun storage and cleaning supplies to be furnished by the club at no cost to members. A total of $30 were raised from membership dues and donations to purchase these supplies. The next year, 1897, saw another important milestone when the club became a member of “National Rifle Association” (NRA). NRAinitially functioned as an organization providing financial support for rifle clubs throughout America; however, NRA later evolved into an organization that advocated for stricter gun laws across many different areas including gun cleaning and safety education among others things In 1902-1903,Club President George Washington Hickey made world-famous presentations on firearm safety at various meetings sponsored by NRA in order to raise awareness about this important topic In 1907-1908 Club Secretary Harry Mooney supervised installation of automatic breech loading machine guns within clubhouse In 1911-1912 Election Committee Chairperson Mrs Ethel Stainbrook donated furnishings and equipment needed to set up election booths within clubhouse In 1913 & 1914 new officers were elected with responsibilities such as chairmanship & treasurer position respectively In 1916 – 1919 Officers Service Awards program was initiated with donation from Mrs Bessie Newmark By 1922 annual meeting had become more like show than anything else with several dances being offered

Klamath Falls, Oregon is a small town located in the southern Cascade Mountains of Oregon. The population was 1,816 at the 2010 census.
