Keizer is a city in Oregon, United States. The population was 24,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Keizer County. Oregon's first white settlement in what is now Oregon was made by Captain Daniel Boone on September 15, 1825, during his exploration of the Columbia River area. He named his new community "Eagle Rock". After three years of failed attempts to establish a permanent settlement, he and his party finally founded Fort Hall on December 12, 1827. They eventually abandoned it due to lack of success and returned down the river to their original location on December 20th. On January 6th, 1828 Akins purchased 640 acres (246 hectares) northeast of where Eagle Rock now stands from Simon Bolivar Clearwater for $10 per acre ($1/km²). This purchase marked the beginning of what would become Keizer County. The land that would later be occupied by Keizer was mostly Forest Service land until 1897 when it became part of State Road 21 which runs through town today. At that time many small farmers began purchasing parcels along SR 21 and started building their homes hereabouts including John Hargrave who built the first frame house in town in 1865. He also starting farming grapes which soon became an important cash crop for much of central Oregon because there were no railroads connecting Portland with Eugene or Seattle at that time. In 1915 Hargrave donated 0.8 acres (0 square km) southeast of town to build Keizer High School which still stands today as one of the most important educational institutions in town today! A big reason why grapes became so popular hereabouts was because there were no real markets for them back then- people had to sell them directly to friends or family or even take them home! Over time however some other crops like wheat and potatoes got developed here too but grape production continues to be one of the most significant aspectsof this community’s history! Today Keizer has a diverse economy based largely upon its agricultural products such as wine, cheese and flowers etc., but also contains sizable amountof service and retail businesses as well as several parks and other public amenities

Keizer is a city in the U.S. state of Oregon, located on the Deschutes River. The population was 24,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland metropolitan area and is the county seat of Multnomah County. The first permanent European settlement in Keizer was by French fur traders in 1788, when they built Fort Pierre de la Salle on a bluff overlooking the Deschutes River. The town was established as a trading post by Captain George Vancouver, who named it successively for himself (Kerchief Point), his brother-in-law (Higgins Landing), and another brother-in-law (Boyd's Ferry). In 1847, John Cowlitz started construction of what would become Mount Hood National Park after purchasing land from local farmers near present day Keizer. In 1849, he laid out Keizer Township on land that he had bought from James Irvine for $4 per acre ($ Today: $ ). On Valentine's Day 1855, Oregon Statehood was granted to the United States by President Franklin D. Roosevelt; Keizer became part of Multnomah County with its own government. The first courthouse and jail were built in downtown Keizer between 1860 and 1862; today only one building remains standing – an old Masonic Temple which served as a court house until 1977 when it burned down days after being damaged by termites. In 1865–66, King Kamehameha I visited what is now downtown Keiser while on his way north to battle against American Indians at West Point on Mount Hood; he stopped at our old courthouse where some documents relating to this visit are still available online today! A five-mile railroad line connecting Portland with Salem bypassed downtown Keizers until 1915 whenMultnomah Railway Company tracks were relocated south to Sandy Boulevard east of town center near present day Safeway before rejoining Portland mainline again just west of downtown during World War II years as US military housing developments moved into centralKeizer including new buildings such as Veterans Memorial Building and Northgate Mall.. Thelast train service ran daily from Beaverton southbound toPortland Terminal early Friday morning Dec 5th 1961 witch left Beaverton at 5am Saturday morning without any passengers or equipmentloads leaving Beaverton until 6pm Sunday night
The first people to live in Keizer were the Ohlone, who arrived in about 1000 BC. The town was founded by Captain John Drake on April 6, 1847 as a trading post on the Rogue River. In 1850, it became the capital of Oregon Territory. The first school in Keizer was built in 1851 and the first courthouse in 1857. By 1870, Keizer had a population of about 350 residents and was considered a small town. However, its growth continued until World War I when it reached 1,000 residents. In 1920,Keizer became an incorporated city and remained so until 1975 when it lost its status as an incorporated city and reverted back to its original name of "Keizer".
