By 1860, about 30% of Keiser's residents were foreign-born (mostly Swedes). European settlement strengthened economic ties between local communities and made possible rapid growth during the late 19th century – including an influx of African Americans beginning in the early 20th century. By 1925, nearly 60% of Keiser's population had originated from outside northwestern Oregon; this percentage has not changed since then. The economy has been dominated by farming since its inception – cattle ranching being among the largest employers – but recent advances have included manufacturing and light industry development along with a growing population density that has outpaced regional growth rates over time. Today's predominately Mormon community has helped contribute to strong social fabric within Keizer while also preserving some traditional values unique to that culture such as polygamy prohibition which still exists today in some form or another among many LDS families across America due to cultural pressure from those same parents

This redevelopment not only breathed new life into old buildings but also created opportunities for cultural exploration within walking distance of everyone’s homes (and plenty of places to eat). Today’s Keiser is an important part of Portland’s history – both as an important regional center for commerce and culture (with a growing list of attractions), as well as an active participant in local government plays an important role in day-to-day life.
