The town also has a large park with tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball courts and other activities for all ages including little league baseball and softball teams as well as an annual Pumpkin Patch Festival that features nearly 100 different types of pumpkins!

Gresham is a town in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1847 by John Gresham and named for him. Gresham is located on the banks of the Willamette River. The first Europeans to visit Gresham were Jedediah Smith and his party in 1811. A cabin was built here by Captian George Vancouver in 1792. In 1830, George Riddle founded the community of Salem on the site of present-day Gresham. Captain John Cowlitz settled here in 1836 after being rafted downriver from Astoria, Oregon by Umpqua Indians looking for land grants. He arrived at what is now North Bend and erected a log cabin there before going into business as a fur trader with his brother-in-law Georgeacott Cowlitz. From this early days until about 1850 or so, Gresham lay within Clackamas County limits only because it had been part of Salem when that county was organized into counties in 1853 (see History of Clackamas County). In1847, when John GresHAM established himself as an emigrant colony at Whatcom Landing on the Columbia River opposite South Bend (now Portland), he chose this site because it offered good sites for agriculture and industry along two river valleys: one near Riddle's landing and one near Salem's wharfage area on the Willamette River opposite upstream from modern day Portland; both valleys would become important transportation corridors during their respective waves of settlement throughout much western Oregon during its history - beginning with AmericanOregon Trail exploration through what are now Multnomah County in 1846 followed by waves of pioneers arriving via wagon roads following US Route 99 between 1840 and 1860 Grew rich opium poppy industry near old millrace where water diverted from Willamette entered river Railroad reached town portage crossing Willamette just south of current day high school building late 1800s
