From 1934-1976, the GRPJ was published by Harry Laughlin under his ownership and editorship before becoming an imprint of American Firearms Publishing Corporation from 1976-2008; then finally being acquired by Repeating Arms Company LLC from American Firearms Publishing Corporation on November 1st of 2008. It also had access to Interstate 5 which helped increase commerce and transportation within the city limits as well as outlying communities such as Hillsboro and Beaverton. In recent years however there has been significant gentrification taking place with more expensive housing developments popping up around town centre while jobs have moved away from downtown towards newer neighborhoods such as Garden Grove or Springfielderville
