During that period, WRA member shirtsleeve buttons were produced using fashionable blueprints provided by M1911 manufacturer Colt Firearms Corporation. In 1949, local printer Ira Denton printed the first issue of Gun T-shirt magazine. At its peak publication circulation was 350+ copies per month. From 1949 until 1978, Gun T-shirt was published by Ira Denton Printing Company located at 521 S First St., Gresham. In 1978, ownership of the company passed through to John Mellencamp Publications Inc., which continues to publish Gun T-shirt today as part of its publishing operation. Throughout much of its history, Gun T-shirt has been an important source of information and inspiration for shooters throughout Oregon and beyond. Its articles have helped individuals learn about all things firearms including how to shoot accurately and safely; how to find great deals on new guns and gear online; how to build their own rifles or shotguns; and more! The population of Gresham grew rapidly during Reconstruction following World War II as factories were established downtown and students began attending local universities. Afterward, however, growth slowed until the late 1990s when jobs moved out of downtown and into suburbs around Interstate 5. In recent years there has been a renewed interest in restoring old buildings and neighborhoods within downtown while also creating new ones along I-5; this process has resulted in increased business activity on surrounding streets and more people moving into central areas such as Gresham since 2000. Despite some challenges – most notably high housing costs – Gresham remains one of America’s fastest growing cities with ambitious plans for its future that include becoming "the global epicenter for technology."

The community is named after Nicholas-Jacques Gresham, who explored the Siskiyou Mountains in 1795 and claimed them for France. In 1847, Brigham Young and his men were traveling through California when they came across Gresham on their way back from a mission to Malheur Valley. They decided to stop there, built a cabin, and started trading with the local people. In 1959, Gresham became an incorporated city under the name of "Oregon City." At that time it had a population of about 15,000 people and included parts of Siskiyou National Forest as well as portions of Bureau of Land Management land managed by the federal government. The city annexed part of nearby Redmond on July 1, 2011. The economic center of Gresham is its shopping district located around First Street and Washington Avenue between Powell Boulevard and Cottonwood Road (the main commercial thoroughfare). Gresham was founded in 1853 by George Gresham, a Scottish engineer. The first store on the town square opened in 1854. The town grew rapidly, and within a few years had a population of 100 people. By 1860, Gresham had become an important railroad stop, with its own station and goods yard. In 1865, the town seceded from Oregon to form its own statehood. Gresham continued to grow rapidly, becoming a thriving center for commerce and culture. In the 1920s and 1930s, Gresham experienced significant growth as an agricultural community; it now has over 100 businesses specializing in agriculture.
