Gresham is a city in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. The population was 10,355 at the 2010 census. Gresham is part of thePortland-Vancouver-Hillsboro, OR-WA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Gresham was platted in 1847 by John signer Gresham and others as the town of New York on land granted to him by the Donation Land Office. His son Brigham Young founded Mormon Battalion No. 5 in 1849 and conducted an early mission from Gresham to Vanport on North Umpqua River. In 1851, he sold most of his holdings in Gresham to Daniel McKay for $2,500 The first post office in Gresham was established on November 3, 1850, by George Armstrong Cushing with the name of New York (replaced by GresHAM). In 1854–55, Benjamin Fenton served as postmaster; he also erected a store building on Main Street. A second Post Office operated from 1865 to 1870 under the name of Portland (later Vancouver) until it was discontinued because of political wrangling over control of that city's municipal government. In 1862 GPS built what is now known as Pioneer Courthouse Square downtown and two years later another square called Jackson Square was developed adjacent to it across Providence Road from Fort Nielson. This area became known as "the Promenade." The original City Hall building constructed between 1889 and 1893 burned down but was rebuilt using some donated materials and finished within three months under then-Mayor James Hance’s watchmanship A large water main system was constructed through downtown Gresham during World War I which boosted business activity considerably; however war veterans returned home after 1918 and local businesses went into decline until they were revived following federal dollars being invested in new infrastructure such as wastewater treatment plants According to 2000 US Census data there are now 11 wards within Tillamook County but only 6 residents who identify themselves as Buddhist or Muslim make up those wards while 2% identify themselves with any other religion

Gresham, Oregon is a small town located in Multnomah County, Oregon. The population was 5,711 at the 2010 census. Gresham was founded in 1855 by George W. Gresham and his family. It became a city in 1959 and has since grown to be one of the most important cities in Multnomah County. The city is home to many businesses, including Sears Holdings Corporation, Nike Inc., and JBL Audio/Video Systems. In addition to its role as an economic center, Gresham is also known for its culture and history. The history of Gresham began with George W. Gresham and his family who settled in the area in 1855. GeorgeW.'s father had immigrated from Wales and he started a farm near present-day Beaverton before moving to what is now multnomah county with his family in 1837. George W.'s grandfather also settled here around this time; he named his farm after his brother-in-law John Cascadden who had come over on the Mary Mackenzie ship when it arrived in Portland on July 12th, 1840AD In 1856, George W. Gresham moved permanently to GresHAM from Beaverton where he had been working as a weaver during the early years of Oregon's statehood George W.'s wife Anna (née Hogue) preceded him to Oregon and they married on October 10th, 1854 at Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church east of Salem They first lived on an acreage that their parents acquired near Mount Hood where they raised chickens until 1861 when they bought an additional 4 acres which became their main house Their first child was born there on December 11th, 1857: Anna May (later Mrs.) Gresham In 1860 they purchased 3 more acres which became their second house There were three other children born totalling six until 1865 when Anna died suddenly at age Thirty One while her husband was away fighting for our Confederate army during the American Civil War - she is buried next door at Mount Hood Cemetery . We may conjecture that she contracted pneumonia while staying with relatives during winter months but no autopsy or physical evidence confirms this theory however it remains popular speculation today After her death their son John inherited her land but sold it all back within two years due to lack of interest from buyers further raising Property values around here !! After Johns death another son Harry bought some property adjacent along Highway 97 about 2 miles west of town limits selling it all back within five years !! These events occurred so quickly that people generally do not know how significant these transactions were !! It should be noted that even though most residents today enjoyed living close enoughto shopping malls or universities without ever having traveled outside their towns boundaries such as college campuses or downtown areas etc., real estate prices have continued steadily increasing well into recent decades !! This begs the question: Why did such dramatic changes occur only 50+ years after initial settlement? And why are current residents so interested(or maybe just desperate?)in maintaining much older properties & businesses within town limits?? By understanding both sides of this story we can better understand why things have changed over time & perhaps even anticipate potential problems ahead
