The Grants Pass Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1903 by men from the small town of Grants Pass, Oregon. The club enjoyed a strong tradition of outdoor shooting and hunting, which led to its creation of an annual rifle and pistol deer hunt in 1909. In 1913, the club established a new rifle range on the banks of the Rogue River. This range became one of the most popular in Oregon, as it provided excellent opportunities for shooters to practice their skills. In 1935, the Grant's Pass Rifle and Pistol Club purchased a machine gun from World War II veteran Halsey Post. This weapon quickly became one of the most popular members-only firearms in the club's history. The machine gun was used extensively at our ranges during many years of NRA membership growth. In 1951, we acquired our first shotgun - a Remington 870 model A shotgun! shotguns have been an important part of our club's history ever since! Our current shotgun range is located on property that once served as a lumber millsite. We continue to add new weapons to our arsenal each year, ensuring that we always have something new to offer members!

Grant Pass, Oregon is a town in Wallowa County, Oregon, United States. The population was 2,451 at the 2010 census. Grant Pass is on the Bullock River and the community lies along U.S. Route 97 between the towns of Pendleton and Redmond. Grant Pass began as a trading post near what is now the eastern edge of Pendleton and developed into an agricultural center with mills and sawmills that produced goods for local markets. By 1880, Grants Pass had become one of the largest towns in Wallowa County with a population of over 1,000 people. The town's growth slowed after World War II as demand for Agriculture products waned due to cheap labor from nearby states. However, growth resumed in the 1980s when Grants Pass becoming home to both an agricultural college and a state prison before finally experiencing significant decline during the 1990s due to soft economic times throughout much of Western Oregon. In recent years there have been efforts by local businesses and citizens to revive GrantsPass through annexation by nearby cities such as Bendigo (population: 1114) and Ashland (population: 5500), but these efforts so far have not had any tangible impact on revitalizing Grant Pass' economy or culture beyond increasing property values within its walls.

Grant Pass, Oregon is a small town located in the Wallowa-Whitman County region of the U.S. state of Oregon. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census, making it the smallest city in Oregon. Grants Pass is named after Major General George A. Grant, who served as commanding general of federal troops during World War II and later became an influential senator from Washington State. Grant Pass first came into being as a trading post on the Rogue River east of present-day Grants Pass. In 1851, James Irvine built a cabin here and called it "Irvine's Fort." In 1863, John Day founded another trading post at Grants Pass by crossing the Willamette River at what is now known as Day's Bridge. The Post office was established here in 1867 under the name of "Grants Pass Station." In 1902, local businessmen W M Dickey and J P Henson bought land adjoining Irvine's Fort for $15 per acre (later increased to $30). They platted and built what is now Grant Park on their land. By 1905, Grant Park had become one of the most popular areas in town because it consisted of open pastures with a well-manicured garden and two large sculptures designed by architect Julius Neuman depicting Native Americans harvesting fruit from trees nearby. In 1923, local residents started organizing to create a new community south of downtown Grants Pass on donated land between Donner Creek and Mount Hood Avenue NW (now University Boulevard NE). Named "Grant Park," this community quickly grew popular because its streets were paved with gravel instead of mud or bricks and there was electricity available until 1951 when it was replaced by electric lights courtesy of United States Electric Power Company (USEP) concessionaires.[1] During World War II Memorial Day weekend in 1945–46, many locals decided to gather around Donner Lake for patriotic celebrations that included fishing tournaments and speeches by then-Governor Oswald Garrison Villard III (D), which helped increase trade importers' profits while also boosting war bonds sales.[2] On July 4th 1946—the day after Japan capitulated—most residents participated in an celebration that ended with an ice cream social at Grant Park before returning home for dinner.[3] Over time various events have been staged at Grant Park such as music concerts,[4][5][6] war remembrance ceremonies[7][8][9], car shows,[10][11][12] fairs,[13](elevated bouquets given to military veterans every year since 2007),[14],[15], yoga classes,[16],"" On October 9th 2006 Mayorially Appointed Commissioners presented final plans for renovation/upkeep/replacement/construction & landscapingof park including adding picnic tables & grassy areas; Landscaping will include planting more weeping willows; Renovation includes new building addition - library annex & conference center; Parks Superintendent has already approved funding
