The late 1800s saw a shift away from muzzleloaders towards breechloading firearms such as accuracy guns like shotguns and revolvers manufactured by Samuel Colt which began appearing on marketplaces across America during this time period. In 1902 Reginald Butler purchased Granges Gunpowder Works which moved its manufacturing to Springfield Armory outside Chicago where it continued producing arms into World War II before being sold off to Seaboard Air Line Railroad company president David Sibley who turned it over to the University of Utah Arms Museum who continue producing firearms there until 1986 when it closed due to lack of funding.
