Gladstone, OR is home to one of the most unique andGun stores in the Northwest. The store has been serving customers since 1907. The store’s owner, Mr. Arthur Ziegler, started selling weapons in 1907 because he felt that it was necessary for law enforcement officers to be able to protect themselves while on duty. He continued selling firearms until his death in 1975. After Mr. Ziegler’s death, his wife Mrs. Lila continued running the store and donated all of her proceeds from sales to the Oregon State Police Foundation. In 1984, Mrs. Lila passed away and was succeeded by her son-in-law Mr Frank Domanik who continued running the store until 2001 when he sold it to current owner Dr Rick Kemeny who still runs it today as an antique/firearm shop with a focus on firearm clothing and accessories (FAC). Gladstone, Oregon was founded in 1877 by man named George W. Gladstone. The town is located on the eastern edge of the U.S. state of Oregon and it is known for its gun industry and its rifle range which has been used to shoot events such as the Miss World pageant.
Gladstone, Oregon is a small town in the Klamath Mountains of eastern Oregon. It is located on the banks of the Cascades River and has a population of about 460. Gladstone was founded in 1881 by J.M. Gladstone as a station on the Central Pacific Railroad. The town became an agricultural center after the arrival of irrigation water from Lake Coeur d'Alene in 1907. In 1929, Gladstone incorporated as a city and adopted a new name, Mailand, after its founder's daughter. Mailand experienced rapid growth following World War II when military bases were constructed in nearby Bend and Corvallis. The population reached 1,500 by 1960 but declined to 600 during the late 1990s recession due to increased competition from Bend and Corvallis. However, recent economic development has led to an increase in the population to 1,800 today. Gladstone is home to two libraries: one public and one private; five churches; four businesses; three schools; two hospitals; one jail; and one golf course. The community also has several parks including Oneonta Park (the only municipally owned park), John Day Park, Mailand Park Lakefront Open Space Preserve, mailand-mailard Regional Trailhead Park & Nature Center, Gladstone Creek Regional Trailhead Park & Nature Center, Postal Service Processing Facility #1 atMailand Post Office Annexes 2-4 adjacent thereto along with various other open space areas throughout the community totaling over 175 acres (70 hectares).

Gladstone, Oregon was founded in 1877 by the pioneers of the Willamette Valley. The town quickly became a bustling center for agriculture,commerce and ranching. Today, Gladstone is an thriving small town filled with character and history. The first settlers to Gladstone were Methodists who came from Kentucky in 1864. They built a log cabin on the edge of what is now known as downtown Gladstone. The Methodists worshipped at the nearby Mount Zion Baptist Church until it burned down in 1868. The next group of settlers arrived in 1876 and named their new settlement after Prime Minister Lord Palmerston, who had recently come to Oregon to promote American expansionism. The pioneers were inspired by Palmerston's example of British democracy and egalitarianism while they waited for a wagon train carrying goods to arrive from California that never did. In 1880, two brothers named John and George Hutton bought land near present-day Gladstone from the local Native American tribe for $5 per acre (about $2 per square foot). By 1888, John Hutton had built several buildings including a school and store; he also started growing crops and raising livestock. In 1896, he donated land to the townspeople for use as a park which still stands today. Over time, many other families moved into Gladstone including Welsh immigrants in 1908 (the first such group ever to settle in Oregon), Germans in 1916 (followed by Poles soon afterward), Japanese Americans during World War II (during which time most residents were interned at Gila River Junction), Episcopalians arriving starting in 1951 (later renamed United Methodist Church) and others over time. A number of businesses began operating within Gladstone during its early years: Jedediah Smith saddlesmith shop opened up in 1886; Winton Hardware & Grocery opened up in 1893; Presbyterian church located on Main Street started services there in 1897; Jenssen’s Seed Store opened up around 1907; Rinehart’s Drugstore operated from 1912 until it closed down around 1915; Wells Fargo bank branch was established here around 1914-15; First National Bank operations took place here from 1935 until it merged into Citi Field Ltd., Incorporated on December 12th 1957
Gladstone is a census-designated place in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The population was 513 at the 2010 census. Gladstone was named for Scottish Prime Minister John Gladstone.
