The Forest Grove Knife Museum is open every day except Mondays from 10am to 4pm, and it is located at 6041 S Highway 97 in Forest Grove, Oregon. The museum contains more than 30 different knives, including fixed bladeknives, folderknives, machetes, spears and axes. The collection was formed over many years when various people donated their blades and tools to the museum. Some of the most famous knife makers in history include knifemaker Jim Thompson who created the first fixed blade knife in America; 18th century French chef-knight Pierre Laffitte who designed some of the firstsuccessful kitchen knives; and Japaneseknife maker Kenji Miyamoto who is known for creating the Katana sword style.

Knives have been a part of Forest Grove, Oregon's culture for centuries. There are many different types and styles of knives available to purchase from the local knife stores in town.
Forest Grove is a small town in the U.S. state of Oregon, located about 60 miles southeast of Portland. The population was 3,853 at the 2010 census. Forest Grove is part of the Deschutes County metropolitan area and is included in the Salem-Keizer-Eugene Combined Statistical Area. The community was originally called "Woodcroft" by early pioneers who settled there in 1847. The name Forest Grove was chosen because of its close proximity to forested land and its resemblance to a grove of trees found near Boston, Massachusetts. Forest Grove first attracted attention as an agricultural center due to its rich soil and plentiful water resources. After two years of construction, the Forest Grove School was built on Summit Road in 1854; it served as a day school until 1912 when it became a high school and remains one today. In 1861, Pacific Railroad arrived in Forest Grove with plans to connect it with Portland via Willamette Valley; however, this project failed to materialize due to financial limitations. In 1886, Cattleman John Hildebrandt opened his first grocery store in what is now known as Hildebrandt Plaza; he continued to operate his store until 1957 when he sold it for $100 million to Safeway Inc.; that same year saw the opening of the first shopping mall in Oregon - The Deschutes Shopping Center - which continues to be one of the most popular malls in Oregon today! In 1902, USPost Office moved from downtown Portland into what is now known as Hildebrandt Plaza; this building served as mail service for much of rural Oregon until 1977 when ZIP Code 79029 absorbed all operating部分 from Multnomah County's post office district! In 1907, Forrest & Son began operations as a flour mill; they continue business today under the name Forrest Flour Mills LLC!. A fire destroyed most of their flour milling facilities during 1933 but they reopened soon afterwards and continue production through present day! In 1941, Jardine Lumber Company opened their largest lumberyard ever - which still operates today - within what is now known as Jardine Place! During World War II (1939-1945), Forest Groves residents helped contribute heavily both militarily and financially towards war efforts by manufacturing munitions and other goods necessary for combat! On July 15th 1948 local resident Dick Hurst founded KOIN 6 NewsChannel 2 - also know locally simply as "KOIN" or "KGW". KOIN has been followed throughout its history by many other news outlets including KTVI (NBC) & KOMO (CBS) who have all since left town... During 2005-2006 Mayor Tim O'Brien worked closely with KOIN 6 NewsChannel 2's Brian Szabo while mayoralty candidate Russ Heineman managed public relations for KOIN 6 News Channel 2 during those campaign months! Today KOIN 6 NewsChannel 2 anchors include: George King( anchor/weekday morning newscast), Betsy Hanna( anchor/4pm evening newscast), Danica Kirka( anchor/5pm live reportnight), Alex Kozinski( anchor/6pm morning reportnight), Jamie DeWolfe(anchor/10pm night show). Many others associated with KOIN 6 NewsChannel 2 are currently employed at various affiliate stations across Oregon including: Lisa Sussman ( Anchor/9pm newsmagazine program) & Mike Shanahan ( Anchor/11pm weekday night newscast). As mentioned before many other organizations such as memberships at various librarieside churches also contribute greatly towards Community Foundation Services' overall goal!!

Forest Grove is located in Multnomah County, Oregon. The community was founded in 1877 by John C. Frémont and his wife, Emma Frémont. Forest Grove became a city in 1907 and was renamed Portland in 1912. In 1945, the city annexed part of the former Agricultural Experiment Station, which led to its current name of Forest Grove University. The first Europeans to visit what is now Forest Grove were the Spanish explorers who sailed up the Columbia River from California on October 15, 1641, and named it San Francisco de Asís after their leader governor Miguel de la Hoz y Costilla. On November 3, 1769 a group of 5 men led by Captain George Vancouver explored what is now Portland Harbor on the north side of Hood Canal and called it Vancouver Island after British Commander George Vancouver. In 1847 Duncan Heckell surveyed what is now Forest Grove and set out to find land for settlers. He found a grant from Governor Ygnacio Hueneme that allowed him to purchase 640 acres (250 ha) of land at $5 per acre from James Shields for £50 sterling or $10 per head of family plus interest payable annually until sold. The Heckell family began farming there in 1850 with help from local Indians who provided food, tools and shelter during wintertime when they could not farm because of frost damage caused by nearby mountains. With an initial population total of 20 settlers in 1850,Forest Grove grew rapidly due to timber cutting rights granted by Mr. Shields as well as refugees from battling American Civil War troops quartered at Douglas Prairie where he had also bought land years earlier! By 1865 there were 300 residents living here scattered among 6 farms with a combined value Produce: $2 million dollars! On July 1st 1870 Mayor Isaac Cook dedicated a new public square on Federal Street between Burnside Avenue and Interstate 5widening its width to almost 200 feet wide including present-day North School Road which would eventually become State Route 99 northbound just past Douglas Prairie creek crossing east thereof near today's Klamath Lake recreation area northwest corner Of Park Boulevard & I-5 south center line then eastward along Withers Boulevard (now SR 99) To terminate at SW First Ave., thence northerly along Ewbank Avenue & NE Broadway Blvd., thence easterly along Market Street NW into town limits where it met & terminated at Federal Street! This square contained 4 large poles supportd by 4 small posts covered with sod earth! Being one half mile long x 2 ½ miles wide this station served as both main street within town limits as well as boundary between two other towns – either Northwest Portland or Eastport – thus forming our present day downtown core surrounded by farmland westward!!! Today's many businesses located Downtown such as Macy’s department store occupy approximately one half block ( northeast corner alley next door), blocks away formerly occupied by Government House Place built mid 1800’s adjoining India Rubber Works 10×10 feet later remodeled into home office for City Manager
The Forest Grove area of Oregon was first settled by the Native Americans in the late 1800s. The area became a town in 1892, and it was renamed Forest Grove in 1913 after James H. Forest, an early settler. The city of Forest Grove grew up around the town and its schools, businesses, and other services. The city was incorporated as a city on November 3, 1916.
